'The era of bipartisanship is over': Senate hits rough patch

The Senate's months-long effort to clinch bipartisan deals - and prove the body can still function - is quickly running out of gas.

The Senate passed legislation this week aimed at combating China's competitiveness, in a win claimed by both sides as an example of how the embattled chamber can cut and pass meaningful agreements........

The shaky grounds for bipartisanship come as Democrats are facing problems in their own caucus. A growing number of Democratic lawmakers are skeptical that Republicans even want to cut big bipartisan deals, and view negotiations as a waste of time.

"Dems are burning precious time & impact negotiating w/GOP who won't even vote for a Jan 6 commission. McConnell's plan is to run out the clock. It's a hustle. We need to move now," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) tweeted Wednesday.

KEYWORDS: bipartisanship; congress; senate
My initial reaction was any bipartisanship went out the window when Trump was elected, but decided not true, there was a lot of bipartisanship to block Trump.

Well, I guess it’s time to declare a dictatorship and let Obama rule by fiat.

There hasn't been any “bipartisanship in the congress for decades. Ocasio Cortez doesn't even know the meaning of that word.

let Obama rule by fiat

Don't worry, Obama is involved, so his legendary "manure touch" will ensure that the Dems completely mess up everything ... just look at how things are (not) going for the Biden Admin so far

And we all know Obama is far too narcissistic to stay away, he's always "got to" get his hands on things ... so expect a lot more Biden botches in the future

They passed a 250 billion dollar bill to give money to high tech companies which have some of the highest market caps in the world. Those companies can easily fund their own research. As usual to get "bipartisan" support there's pork for all 50 states that they can spend, for example, to bribe companies to move there from other states.

These Congress people need to go home, get real jobs and stop “fixing” problems they created by trying to fix problems.

Bipartisanship aka uniparty... this term is another leftist invention.

Just like when they said Trump was colluding with Putin but Obama was effecting a “rapprochement” with Cuba or Iran...

This is why Americans are overall better off with the 50-50 Senate. Mittens, Collins and Mookowski are largely afterthoughgs instead of CNN / MSNBC Fascist darlings. While leftist Rats from states like AZ and GA get exposed for the 2022 midterms.

The left don’t believe Jan 6th was just cardio. They are in the process of reimagining insurrection at Fort DC.
