Jupiter Paulsen was skateboarding from her father's house to her mother's house around 7 a.m. on Friday, June 4, when she was randomly attacked, according to her father and court documents.

The charges started out as attempted murder, as the victim made it to a hospital alive, but succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Once she died, the state amended the charges to be murder rather than attempted murder.
Regrettably, North Dakota is a non-death-penalty state.

You be the judge. The article i saw read that she was randomly attacked while skateboarding..... What would you think? If it had been my daughter, the law would be the least of his worries. As it stands, I doubt anything happens to him. He might get a long suspended sentence but that will be as far as it goes. He will be on the prowl looking for another victim soon.

The news, especially local affiliates, are very careful about declaring someone to be a killer until convicted. Unlike social media corporations they can be sued if the person is found not guilty (even though in this case it looks like the police have their guy).
Stop being a jerk. That child obviously enjoyed skateboarding and would still have been out and about in public or going to a friend’s house.
There is nobody to blame except the criminal who killed her.
