Los Angeles Teachers’ Union to Vote on Push to Cut Aid to Israel

Leaders of United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) will vote in September on a declaration to call for an end of US aid to Israel.

The resolution will also ask its members to vote in favor of “the international campaign for boycotts, divestment, and sanctions against apartheid in Israel.”

UTLA President Cecily Myart-Cruz sent a motion form to members that stated:

I move that UTLA denounce the recent bombings in The West Bank and Gaza by the Israeli resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilian people, mostly women and children. Palestinians have the right to self-determination free of violence and occupation. UN Resolution 194 asserts their right of return to their homes, unjustly seized by the Israeli government

Our tax dollars should go to public schools and healthcare not incessant warfare against an indigenous people in the Middle East.

Shella Sadovnik, litigation counsel at the Freedom Foundation, an organization that fights government union abuses, said :

"It is unconscionable that after a year of sacrificing our children’s education and well-being on the altar of their leftist political agenda to defund the police, ban charter schools and raise taxes on California residents, UTLA is now wasting taxpayer resources to condemn Israel, causing further political division at a time we need it least.ing labeled.”

If I recall correctly the last California Teacher’s Union convention was quite the Satan fest with calls for doubling down on the children’s mind-screwing with CRT and other crap. But only after holding out on doing their jobs after their super-extended COVID vacation (while paid). I think under Newsom they’re STILL not working. When is enough is enough?

I guess they figure if judges (9th Circuit, etc.) can also be legislators and administrators they can take a shot at being dictatorial despots as well. Perhaps these people need more to do like cleaning decrepit laws and long-dead voters out of the system. But they'd probably cry that's too much like real work.
