Two days ago, the New York Times’s Maggie Haberman reported that Donald Trump “has been telling a number of people he’s in contact with that he expects he will get reinstated by August.” In response, many figures on the right inserted their fingers into their ears and started screaming about fake news.
Instead, they should have listened — because Haberman’s reporting was correct. I can attest, from speaking to an array of different sources, that Donald Trump does indeed believe quite genuinely that he — along with former senators David Perdue and Martha McSally — will be “reinstated” to office this summer after “audits” of the 2020 elections in Arizona, Georgia, and a handful of other states have been completed. I can attest, too, that Trump is trying hard to recruit journalists, politicians, and other influential figures to promulgate this belief — not as a fundraising tool or an infantile bit of trolling or a trial balloon, but as a fact.

Even if the audits prove Trump and the others won, it will not reverse the election as the electors have already spoken.

Well, if Cooke is right, Trump can dream on, because the apparat won’t lift a finger to help him.

Neither this writer nor haberman have outlined the constitutional process that enables this.
Once upon a time, journalists were all like sports announcers. “Here’s what happened yesterday” or “That guy is making his move — can they stop him? They’re coming up on the outside, it’s gonna be close. He needs a burst of speed. Does he have anything left in the tank? That finish line is coming right up!”
But today it’s more like “OrangeMan is pulling a fast one. We need to stop him. He’s a liar. He’s a fraud. Everyone hates him. Don’t let him try anything! All my friends say he’s worse than Hitler!”
I hate the media.
When these audits demonstrated what we all know is true, that the last election was stolen by the Rats, what should happen? It will be a constitutional crisis. China-Joe-Ho is not the legitimate president. The Senate is not tied with the Rats in control, it is majority GOPe.
The crisis is then, how can any laws passed and signed into law be legitimate? Trump’s EOs should still be in force, and none of China-Joe-Ho EOs should be in force. None of the Rat appoints to the court are legitimate and none of his political appointees valid. And the big one, why should the cheater China-Joe-Ho be allowed to stay in office and continue to exercise power?
And the best part we are seeing right through it!
These are the crazy years. Nothing is carved in stone. Especially the Constitution.

I’m not either. But it makes me feel good, at least for awhile. I suppose it’s something like checking your lottery ticket, and you’ve matched the first three numbers. There are more numbers to check, but you feel good, at least for awhile.
The electors certified a fraud.. any commoner would be charged a conspirator were they to be complicit in fraud.. two tiered justice.
That’s the way you know that this is totally true and accurate, and that the “reporter’ isn’t making this up out of whole cloth. If he had actually named the people he had spoken to, who could verify that they had spoken directly to Trump, that wouldn’t be at all credible, so they have to use anonymous sources.
Kind of like a 2 year old’s imaginary friends. The most reliable sources are in your own head.
The electors themselves are illigitimT.
