Speaker Pelosi’s dream of relitigating the January 6th Capitol riots until the mid-term elections is over. The U.S. Senate just delivered a back-breaking rejection of the “independent” commission that was hand-selected by Nancy Pelosi.
“A crucial Senate vote on a bill to create an independent inquiry to investigate the deadly January 6 Capitol Hill riot failed Friday, falling short of the 10 Republican votes needed to advance and illustrating GOP efforts to move on from the insurrection that left five people dead and injured 140 police officers,” CNN reported.
“The vote was 54 to 35, showing the bill had a bipartisan majority of support with six Republicans voting with Democrats. However, the bill needed 60 votes to advance,” the report noted.
That’s what I have wondered about.
So they lost the vote for an official commission to investigate the events at the Capitol. But won’t they still hold hearings in Congress, if nothing else for grandstanding purposes, about what happened that day?
It shouldn’t.
The Senate is likely providing cover for the chamber that has all of its members up for re-election every two years.
IOW, the Senate is playing good cop to the House’s bad cop.
And they both know that they can’t risk their narrative taking any more hits.
With Benghazi, at least there were four dead servicemen. The only dead on January 6 was one peaceful protestor.
If the House holds hearings in their building, where will AOC be?
US Senators are fine with rioters burning cities. When protestors show up at the Senators’ own doorstep... not so much. The overweening arrogance of what is essentially a pack of crooks is amazing. A pack of looters and moochers looking down their noses at the people who fund this corruption. Disgusting.

A couple of top Capitol Hill policemen “committed” suicide shortly after Nancy’s debacle, as I remember.
Praise God! And shame on CNN for lying AGAIN about the number of people killed!
....personally, I don’t believe the man attached to the arm and hand and gun that fired a bullet into Ashleigh Babbitt and murdered her did it on his own volition.
What encourages my belief is that the POWERS ABOVE have so far successfully covered up for this un-named black officer which implies higher up GUILT.
An independent investigation privately funded should undertake to investigate this murder using every trick in the book up to and including FOIA requests, lawsuits under FOIA and so on. Keep the INVESTIGATION active and IN THE NEWS for the next 50 years and have it IMPLY that Nancy and Chuck gave the order to shoot SOMEBODY! It’s time to fight fire with fire.
