On May 18, Pennsylvania held its customarily scheduled municipal primary elections. Following the example of previous municipal primary elections, Keystone State voters were faced with several statewide questions and ballot initiatives. This year, these prompts included a new genre of questions: those related to Gov. Tom Wolf’s emergency powers...
According to the Morning Call, both questions had margins of approximately 54 percent in favor to 46 percent opposed. Overall, Keystone State voters rejected Wolf’s heavy-handed gubernatorial emergency powers, which shows their desire to rightfully inject the people and the legislative branch back into the decision-making process when it comes to prolonged (and unnecessary) emergency declarations.

Not only has Wolf been slow to ease up on the highly burdensome restrictions for Pennsylvanians, but now he is outright ignoring the wishes of the very people he was elected to represent...
Wolf’s initial emergency declaration was enacted on March 6, 2020. His latest version revives his draconian emergency powers through yet another extension, as our Founders roll in their graves at the thought of Wolf’s authoritarian governance.
Of course, Wolf’s latest emergency declaration came only two days after the people of Pennsylvania gave a clear message to him that they reject his use (or abuse) of ongoing emergency powers.

The pandemic has shown us the true colors of our elected officials. The sad truth is that in most cases, those elected to represent we the people are singularly concerned with maintaining their own power. Fortunately for Pennsylvanians, Gov. Tom Wolf will not be able to run for reelection. Thank God for term limits. However, even in a future without a Wolf, we the people must remain eternally vigilant against any and all government officials who woefully abuse their power -- pandemic or not.

Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
He’s a wolf in Democrat clothing.
I'm no fan of Tom Wolf, but this isn't entirely correct.
The sad truth is that in most cases, totalitarian A-holes like Wolf have the support of most voters. Pennsylvania is filled with voters who are losers and misfits, and who are perfectly fine with this dope "making them safe."
The voters may have rejected his emergency powers in this last low-turnout election, but make no mistake about it: If Tom Wolf were running for re-election tomorrow, he'd probably win.
Pennsylvania should have a 2020 election audit in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. People have lost faith in fair elections.
Socialist a-hole’s dream of dictatorial power are being crushed.
A wolf can KILL.
Only 56% voted against totalitarianism? That means 44% voted for it (or not against it)! I find this difficult to believe but it may be reality. I think vote fraud is so pervasive that we cannot trust any poll!
Actually, it is down to 52% because the counting is still going on.
Only 100,000 votes separates the sides on this amendment out of 2.2 million votes.

That’s the reason a Democrat (any Democrat) will win he race for Governor and U.S. Senate. After the Democrats in Pa. figured out how to stuff the ballot boxes and the Republican majority in the House and Senate stood by and did nothing, a Republican is unlikely to ever win a state wide election again.

He said DJT would lose, if ALL the votes were counted. He made no distinction between legal and illegal votes and neither did the Republican legislature.
Don’t want the Governor acing like a dictator. . . Continues voting for Democrats.
Nah. Wolf is just a little idiot... literally.
Teachers union put him in, he’s a douche canoe... a complete idiot.
The most inept governor this state had EVER had by far.
Lazy, ignorant, and arrogant
The ballot measures passed narrowly by party line and by in-person v. mail in ballot. The mail ins were overwhelmingly against. If anything should be read into the primary election, it should be that the baseline of mail-in participation is higher than before and skews to the sentiments of the establishment. That’s going to be a hurdle for primary candidates in the future to overcome.
There wasn’t much of an organized campaign on either side for the ballot measures, so the outcome reflects a lot of personal motivations, but for an off year primary with few other big elections to be decided and a lot of passion on the “yes” side which was a republican-led effort, the outcome should have been well above 60-40 and the special election in the Lackawanna county area should have been won by the republican. If there was a wholesale rejection of the Wolf administration and the state of politics in PA, Larry Krasner would also have lost his primary in Philly, but he didn’t. PA still has a long way to go.
He should be criminally prosecuted for his deals between PA Dept of Revenue and his collection agent friends in Massachusetts.
Taxpayers got screwed.
