Never, EVER Again

Like a snowball that’s turned into an avalanche, the restoration of the rights and liberties millions of Americans, particularly those in blue states, lost over the past 14 months seems to be unstoppable at this point. Indeed, the precipitous fall of Covidstan has happened quicker and in more places than any of us could have possibly predicted even three weeks ago. We’ve got a long way to go, particularly with schools, workplaces, and public transportation, but I never imagined that restrictions and mask mandates would end in places like New York, Connecticut, and Virginia anytime before 2022, but thankfully, here we are.

That’s good news we should all celebrate heartily, but if you think this sudden relinquishing of unconstitutional governmental power has anything to do with our overlords’ sudden, Damascus-road-like grasp of ‘science,’ I’ve got an autographed picture of Gretchen Whitmer at a mask burning to sell you. From the CDC’s constant mixed messaging to Dr. Anthony Fauci finally admitting that he was wearing a mask after being vaccinated only for show after indignantly denying it to Sen. Rand Paul just weeks earlier, any attempt to portray these blubbering fools as anything short of utterly incompetent or pure evil is going to fall on deaf ears with me.

No, they’ve loosened their iron grip on forced public masking, not because they ever “followed the science” (LOL), but because WE forced them to do so. And by “we,” I’m talking about a pretty big tent. If you at any point during this charade pushed back by refusing to comply, speaking out in some capacity against local or state authorities, or even engaging in the information war by telling the truth to those in your circle of influence, however small or large that might be, YOU had a role in winning this battle.

How do I know this? Because if the powers-that-be felt they could have credibly hung onto forced masking and continued to get unquestioning obedience by the vast majority of the public, they would have held onto it indefinitely. How do I know THAT? Well, take a gander at what’s going on in Europe. Refuse to don a face diaper outside alone in Germany, for example, and the police are likely to tackle you. It’s hard-core fascism in countless places across the globe, with no end in sight.

Instead, here in the good ole’ USA, we had this wonderful thing called federalism that allowed for states like Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, and South Dakota to decline to follow the sheep herd over the proverbial cliff. And in so doing, we poked so many holes in the ‘non-pharmaceutical interventions like masking and lockdowns work!’ narrative that there was no way to keep the truth muzzled (see what I did there?). How different would the U.S. look with a locked-down Florida, for example, a place that turned out to be our highest-profile example that COVID fascism isn’t just unjustly tyrannical, it’s not even medically necessary to protect the public? What if no other state had had the power to make their own decisions in this regard? Would America look like Canada, the U.K, or Germany?

Not only did federalism save us this time around, but federalism also will play a key role in making sure something like the clown show we’ve experienced over the past 14 months NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. Thankfully, many are doing it already. Efforts are underway in at least a dozen states to roll back the seemingly limitless powers granted to governors during a crisis. Last week, voters in Pennsylvania decisively stripped Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf of the emergency powers he took advantage of to shut down his state. A law passed in Florida earlier this month is designed to ensure future governors don’t, in the words of Gov. Ron DeSantis, “seize power” during a future “emergency.” Iowa passed a bill, signed into law last week by Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds, that banned any future mask mandates in all state schools, cities, and counties.

Short of something akin to the Black Death, closing businesses, determining which workers are “essential” and which are not, and lockdowns should never be viable options in any free society. Forcing people, especially children, to breathe and speak through a piece of cloth has never been nor should ever be considered 'normal,' and any attempts to pass off any sort of dystopian 'new normal' as an acceptable version of the old should be rebuffed at all costs. Under no circumstances should the healthy be quarantined or restricted by government again in the name of ‘public health.’

We have won a battle, but we are far from winning the war. The system is still in the process of using COVID-19 to implement goals it never dreamed it could accomplish so soon, and even as this virus fades, there will always be another health scare on the horizon. And rest assured, when respiratory virus season hits again in the Fall and we experience any sort of COVID spike, they’re bound to keep peddling the same useless nonsense they’ve been pushing this whole time. When they do, do not give them ONE INCH. Take some time to celebrate, sure, but keep your proverbial powder very, very dry. In all our efforts going forward, our mantra should be NEVER, EVER AGAIN.

For pretty much my entire life, they’ve been saying we have too many people. Population explosion! The earth can’t handle 7 billion of us. To some extent, this has been a justification for abortion — Golly! Just imagine the USA with 60 million more people!

COVID comes along and kills a few hundred thousand (if you accept their inflated numbers, which I do not). All of a sudden this is an existential crisis for humanity?

We throw away our economy, our school children, our social bonds, the last remnants of our tattered notion of limited government? We throw all that away? For this wimpy thing?

It’s not the Black Death. We do not have labor shortages because “everybody’s dead”. We do not have cities collapsing because “there’s no one left to maintain the infrastructure”. We do not have great migrations because “life is no longer possible in that blighted region”.

It really is the flu, bro. The only existential crisis is what we’re letting the government do to us.

It’s what they ( Marxists ) wanted to do with “climate change” over time but only quicker and on steroids...

We have not won, they are retreating to regroup. Vaccine passports are still being prepared and instituted. THe masks are nothing compared to the passports.

Bill Gates has smirked like a psychopath while saying the next pandemic will really get out attention. The war is nowhere near over. We have to continually build our resistance.

MORE resistance and prayer is needed, no resting on laurels for us!

I think the civic scare has lost its punch. The deepstate is probably moving toward the alien invasion scare next.

You make so many good points I don’t know where to start, but the 1st paragraph is something I’ve considered ever since this crap started.

With all the idiots blithering about the “population explosion”, a few thousand die from a weakling of a virus, or complications thereof, and they go into hysterics about it.

This is not as serious a threat as other ones weve seen before, like SARS for example, but it has been handled much differently. Nothing like it in our lifetimes.

Spanish Flu was it? early 20th century. SARS. MERS. Swine Flu. Asian Flu. I’m surprised they didnt name one Chimney Flu. I remember a couple spread by mosquitoes, but can’t remember their names. I may have had one 3 years ago, nearly killed me. I thought it was pneumonia, but not sure now. Mid summer, mosquitoes a big problem here, very good chance it could have been one of those. I’m still in rough shape, COPD is not fun.

But never has our government reacted like this. We’ve always confronted it head on, with a ‘that all you got?’ attitude.

We put a man on the moon. We defeated communism in WWII. We shut down polio. TB is no longer a threat, malaria can be prevented. Measles is almost nonexistent.

Now we’ve let a puny virus with a survival rate of 99.97% kill our economy, shut down our schools, keep us locked in our homes and terrified for over a year???? Not to mention the stupid face diapers that do nothing but interfere with our ability to breathe...and talk...I cannot understand half the people I try to talk to. but it’s fun to keep asking them to repeat themselves... :)

What was that? HUH? Sorry, didn’t understand you?

The most irritating part? Judging by past experience, not a soul will be held accountable.

I usually don’t get sick.

I had a long unemployment stint and after 2 years of that, caught something every year. Prior to that, I only had the flu once, and caught colds maybe once every five years.

I eventually was employed again and haven’t gotten sick since.

My belief is that, due to my not being routinely exposed to day to day pathogens like cold and flu at the office, my immune system gradually degraded to where I was more susceptable to getting sick. I wasn’t “keeping up” with the variants.

If that’s true, with many more folks working at home and using delivery services, we may have a looming population of folks with weakened immune systems.

If the general population follows the experience of my timeline, we would see a terrible seasonal illness spike in the end of 2022.

Note also that the vaccine are a genetic modification to our immune system. What could go wrong?

The "masking laws" were lifted here in Connecticut last Wednesday but you wouldn't know it. The vast majority of Connecticut citizens still dutifully mask up before entering supermarkets, stores and restaurants, etc.

The shackles of slavery and submission are slow to come off for those who have become accustomed to their "chains" and that is sad to see.

My wife and I have made it a point to go maskless everywhere since the indoor policy was lifted last week. Even in places where the signs still politely ask us to "mask up" in spite of the Connecticut governor's decision.

I fully expected to get kicked out of a place or two but that has not happened. While I get a couple of hostile stares from some of the other customers, particularly at Dunkin Donuts for some reason, nobody at these stores have asked me to leave. If I am asked to leave, I will politely do so out of respect for the business owners but I have vowed to never do business at that particular place again and plan to write a letter to the owner/manager stating so.

But I have not had to do that so far and over the past weekend, I saw more and more maskless faces out and about, particularly at the Big Y Supermarket in Bethel. In fact, I went into a liquor store Saturday afternoon and even they guy at the counter had no mask on and we had some very friendly conversation.

Freedom appears to be winning out, but as the article points out, it was a very close call.

Bill Gates has smirked like a psychopath while saying the next pandemic will really get out attention.

***********************

That’s a point I neglected in my previous post.

I do certainly believe this was only a trial run, a “proof of conecpt” effort. I would be willing to bet china has another one already in cold storage that is much worse than this, they just wanted to see if it would really work and how well.

I think it exceeded thier expectations. Iexpect to see anotherone but not immediately. I think they have to wait and let the hysteria from this one die down, then once everyone thinks it’s back to normal, we’ll be hit with another one but we’ll see millions die next time. Think bodies piled in the streets because there’s nobody left to bury them or too many to bury.

China - or the communist party, to be more accurate - has no concern for human life, that has been shown long ago. Chairman Mao tortured, beat and starved at least 70 million, probably more like 100 million. Pol Pot did the same but on a smaller scale. Castro was no different but he had a much smaller population to deal with too. He would have killed millions, but Cuba is a very small island. Maduro is letting Venezuela starve right now. While he lives on steak, lobster and caviar, of course.

Yes I’m worried. This was only the trial run. Gates is probably just as evil as Hillary and Soros.

You’re probably also right that they are trying to regroup. Makes sense to me. I do know this, we cannot let our guard down...I will not stop stocking up and I will keep everything cleaned and oiled...

I just put 3 fishing reels back in service, all Ambassadeurs. They refuse to wear out. One was made in 1972, I have 2 others made in 73 and 74, all still work perfect, just need to be cleaned and oiled. The 73 and 74 are put up in zip lock bags, cleaned and oiled 25 years ago and stored. Ready to go right now in a pinch. The ones I just put back on rods are newer models with ball bearings, a 4600, a 5000-C and a 6500. All working perfect and I have a lake 100 yards away. Literally boatloads of bass, bream and crappie plus catfish if I want to set out a few drop lines. The coast is 2 hours away, that’s what I’ve been concentrating on, I’m way spoiled on salt water fish...

But...when the next one hits, those of us who can stay out of the cities might be the only ones who have a chance. We have to be constantly on the lookout for the 1st signs of it. Then, stay away from town at all cost. Stock up before that happens.

My In-Laws are in CT. They are about 80. They are vaccinated. Everyone they know is vaccinated. They used to be world travelers. They stay in their home now more than they did a a year ago. They just live in fear. My wife and I had COVID a couple months ago. We cannot visit her parents until we get vaccinated. Against the disease we’ve already had. My wife will probably do it. Not me.

Exactly. And shame on the other folks here who posted those daily threads mocking us for saying so.

Out of respect for Free Republic and its owners, I tried to stay away from confrontation on those threads though I was tempted many times to tell them what I really thought of their scare-mongering and going along with the government narrative on this so-called "pandemic". Hopefully, now that they are proven to have been utterly wrong about things, they will tuck their tails between their legs and slink away for a while.

Take this as a warning, Americans! The left will stop at nothing to enslave you!

It is past time for us to again say “NO!” to the left. We did it in 2016 and it triggered them for five years.

Just remember, they will fight everywhere, use any scheme, violate any law or moral, to enslave us and destroy our spirit!

The war for our freedoms and liberties is far from over. There may have been a minor battle won here or there, but we need to do much more.

It's not popular, even in conservative circles it seems, to talk about the one solution that restores our freedoms and liberties. That is small and limited government. I mean very small. A good 80% of the federal government, sans military, needs to go. A good 95% of all regulations created after 1960, need to go. A substantial number of laws need to be repealed. Even our military is bloated with Marxism and things that have nothing to do with killing and breaking things. That needs to go. It's not just the federal government that needs downsized. It is state and local government. Even public schools need to be stripped of administrators, support staff, leftist curriculum and the teachers that teach it.

Make all these people working in useless government jobs seek employment in the private sector. Given them a dose of personal responsibility and they may just find that they can make ends meet and feel good about themselves. The whole downsizing government and elimination of laws and regulation frees a huge percentage of the US population from idleness, laziness, and a pathetic existence. It provides freedom and liberty to the many that have fought in the decades long war. That is winning.

We'll know when we are actually on the offensive when federal, state and local spending is actually less, in real dollars, than the previous year and then for many additional years. The war isn't over until the objective of eliminating huge percentages of government is achieved.

I believe you are 100% spot-on.

Even the most well-conditioned athlete will become woefully out of shape after just a few weeks of being a couch potato. (That's why professional athletes maintain rigorous work-out routines during the off-season.)

Your immune system can be compared to an athlete of sorts. It needs to constantly work out to maintain its peak performance.

Ironically, the CDC advice over the past 14 months has been totally at odds with this. Telling people to "stay indoors", constantly wash their hands and sanitize everything they came in contact with, not to mention masking, basically put their immune system on bedrest.

Those scaredy-cats who took that horrible advice now have much weakened immune systems and are thus much likelier to find themselves getting sick once they start venturing out into the big, bad world.

It would be helpful if stores would take down every sign that refers to masking, even ones that say masking is optional.

Some have. It tends to be the smaller, privately owned stores. I think they've had enough of the mask nonsense themselves.

The big chains tend to move a lot slower and be more cautious.
