Wyoming state Sen. Anthony Bouchard, a Republican who has emerged as one of the most high-profile primary challengers to Rep. Liz Cheney, said in a Facebook Live video Thursday he impregnated a 14-year-old girl when he was 18.
Bouchard said they later got married with the blessing of her mother, and took care of the child. Bouchard and the girl married when he was 19 and she was 15, the Casper Star-Tribune reported. He added that they got divorced about three years later, and she died by suicide at the age of 20.

It really is a private matter.
She killed herself in 1990 so 1987? Not 1887 that’s for sure.
Eight people including Bouchard are running against Amy. This is simply a typical DEM distraction.
Whoops...not Amy....Liz!!
This guy going to wish he never announced.
Trump will never endorse him. WY can do better.
Do you think Trump would endorse this man?
With all due respect-I don’t know where you grew up-but I grew up in a remote rural area-kids tend to grow up with parents’ guidance pretty fast-and that includes taking responsibility for your actions, as an adult does. The 19 year old guy only would have been on the hook for statutory rape if I’d run to my dad and said I didn’t know what I was doing, I was drunk, he made me do it, etc-and my dad would have had to call the sheriff, get a lawyer, go to court, file suit, etc-rape was most often the real, ugly thing-forcing a girl without her consent-not a couple of teenagers who are dating having consensual sex, even if only one is 18...
Getting rid of Lezzie Liz is too important to be understanding. Move on to a better candidate.
Bouchard was way ahead in the polls over Cheney...that's why this attack.
Not unusual for two kids....yes he was a kid, too....to find themselves in a jam. They could have chosen an abortion. Really not unusual for kids this age to get married....pregnant or not. It took parental consent.
I have to laugh at all you perfect people. Two high school kids had sex, got pregnant, got married and it’s a felony. LOL
This is created by the GOPe to save Cheney.
I don’t care about fair to him or not. He’s in the legislature, his district can decide all that.
This is about erasing Cheney and it’s not about anything else. Find someone squeaky clean and erase her. It’s not rocket science.
At the risk of being pedantic-throwing around words like pedo/pedophile, racist, supremacist, etc without the proper context lessens the effect of the real meaning of those ugly words and actions-as in:
“pedophile: sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object specifically : a psychiatric disorder in which an adult has sexual fantasies about or engages in sexual acts with a prepubescent child”.
A 14 year old does not meet the definition of a “prepubescent child”, unless they are physically abnormal-a 14 year old is a teenager...
He married the girl for three years and divorced.
He raised his son (now apparently in some difficulty) and is not abandoning his responsibility.
I'm 73 and on the public school board, that hated my exposing them, discovered a felony I committed in 1969 (drunk, stupid and no, I won't tell you) that they threatened to send a letter to the AG of Pa and I resigned (at age 67 (I think) to prevent the commies from affecting my new second wife not yet a citizen (she is now).
I FULLY understand this and support him.
The idea that a 14 year old girl could not (cannot) willingly consent to sexual intercourse did not make its way into the legal code until fairly recently. Inserting the age differential into the codes is even more recent.
Perhaps Wyoming is unique, but in most states if you want to run for office - you file the papers, pay the fees and/or gather enough signatures to get on the ballot. Unless he is filling an appointed seat, he has been previously elected by Wyoming voters - not the party.
I don't know if some here are projecting or reacting to something terrible that happened to someone you love - but nothing I see in the article or have read in the comments thus far supports the ideas of rape or trauma or anything that would “cause” the wife's later suicide.
Remember being 18 and seeing 14-year-olds? They look like little kids. That’s who this person had sex with.
30 and 14 is a bit of a difference.
She was such a “little kid” that she even got pregnant?
Just listen to yourself will ya?
