House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) released a statement Tuesday opposing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) backwardly focused January 6 commission legislation due to bad-faith negotiations.
McCarthy explained Republicans have been hoodwinked by Pelosi “falsely” claiming “in the press that she had delivered Republicans a counterproposal, when in reality her proposal would not surface until weeks later.”

McCarthy believes the election was fairly won, so he agrees with Pelosi on that much.
Why was he ever considering it in the first place? Should have been a non-started in both houses, at least for the GOP — the Marxist left will run with it regardless.

ALL Republicans should boycott the ‘commission’ so it will look as partisan as it really is. Of course there are RINOS like Romney and Cheney that will volunteer...........................
The proper political response is to call their entire Jan. 6 narrative BULLSHIT, have nothing to do with it, and attack and oppose it at every turn
How many political prisoners are there now? Why are they not released on bail in violation of every Americans right to a quick and speedy trial? We know why. They know we will never like them so they want us to fear them.
Here’s what I would do. Boycott her hearings and have the committee members give patriots a tour of Congress during all the hearings, and bring along some friendly reporters.
The Democrats are addicted to cheap political theatre and posturing, and that is all this investigation would be.

True, and what’s interesting here is the following:
“Cheney said her ousting was not a surprise but said she would not leave the party and speculated that several of her colleagues were worried what a commission into the 6 January riot would uncover.”
What’s the concern here, Lurk? If people are confiding in her that they’re worried about what the commission might find, then what is it they know about Jan 6th that they’re not telling us? What are they trying to hide? Must be something favorable to us, since it can’t be any worse than the basic claim (Trump told his people to overthrow the US government).
This is all very strange, but my suspicion is that some of the lower level guys aren’t going to serve 10 years for perjury and will sing regarding who gave the stand-down orders and who organized the attack on the Capitol...and all the claims for over 5 months will be shown as bogus (which they are).
This is just a bone to toss to the media during the Biden Media drought.

I think the Republicans, who have been doing a lot of polling, saw they were cutting their own throats.
Without that the commission is a scam.
