the office currently held by Minority Whip John Thune, in the June 2022 Republican primary.
“Our conservative leaders have talked loudly and forcefully, but then they enter the battle with tin swords and soon come retreating back to their constituencies with a feeble ‘I tried.’ South Dakotans love their freedom and independence, and they expect and deserve more from their leaders,” Mowry said in a press release.
Mowry, a “ranch-raised” South Dakotan, does not come from the world of politics. He’s a married man with four grown children who has spent most of his working life in the fields of music, writing and communications and education, along with hands-on labor.
He and his wife took their children to India in 1993 for a mission trip and ended up working and serving there for the next 20 years. Now, back in the U.S., Mowry has seen the drastic changes that have been made to this Constitutional Republic and feels the need to stand up and speak up.
He is running on an "America First" platform.

This guy isn't a politician but hopefully he'll get some traction.
It would be good to see Thune tossed out on his ass, but if I lived in SD I would have a lot of questions about this guy Mowry. Let’s just say I’m a bit skeptical about someone running on an “America First” candidate after spending 20 years of his adult life in India.
The Turtle has one hell of a machine making sure only his cronies get into his club. Not once did he recess the Senate because he knew Trump would have put all his men in. After the Big Steal the mask came off .
Good. He is one of the Senators who voted to make Biden president. If there is one thing we need to do next year it is remove the disloyal Senators.
Here is the list of the Biden voters that are up for election next year:
*Boozman - AR
*Crapo - ID
*Grassley - IA
*Lankford - OK
*Lee - UT
*Hoeven - ND
*Moran - KS
*Murkowski - AK
*Rubio - FL
*Thune - SD
*Young - IN
I guess Kristi Noem will have to choose sides.
I honestly don’t think Trump had any “all his men” to do much of anything in D.C. — even if he was given the opportunity to fill every cabinet post through a recess appointment.
Even if Mowry is a communist from an Indian commune, would he be any worse than Thune?
I sent Thune money in his early days, before he was in the senate, but he soon became a swamp critter.
I have regretted it ever since and it's been about 15 + years.
The senate is a breeding pit for corruption because they get six year terms and most voters have short memories.
The 17th Amendment was one of the worst amendments, ever.
When I see someone with a background in music, education, communications, writing, and Indian communal living in politics, I see someone who is (1) full of crap, and/or (2) incapable of raising enough money to win a U.S. Senate race without selling his soul to the same “swamp” he claims to be running against.
I hope I’m wrong, but color me skeptical.
“I guess Kristi Noem will have to choose sides.”
Don’t worry, she won’t have a problem getting it wrong.
Promises made! Promises broken!
Thune was pre-Tea Party. He took out Tom Daschle in 2004.
But he was taken under McConnell’s wing and was thus corrupted.
Scott Pruitt was an excellent champion for common sense at the EPA. So much so that the Left hounded him to the point he resigned. He is an example of one of Trump’s best picks. You can easily tell who the good people Trump picked by the degree the Swamp hated them.
We should all be skeptical of political creatures until they prove otherwise.
I'm just saying, he cannot be worse the thune.
Thune is a political whore and a pimp.
I hate the bastard.
Thank you for the correction. In either case, he’s become a Swamp Critter!
That’s true. I suspect Scott Pruitt was totally unknown to Trump before he was considered for that appointment, though. And I’d point out that as good as he was, he was also a long-time politician who I probably would not have seen as someone I’d automatically trust to toe the MAGA line in Washington.
“Our conservative leaders have talked loudly and forcefully, but then they enter the battle with tin swords and soon come retreating back to their constituencies with a feeble ‘I tried.’ “
AMEN! The GOP are the Assistant Democrats.
I’d like to see their designations change too:
“Thune AD-South Dakota.”
