On Monday, Governor Asa Hutchison appeared on “The View” and declared that former President Donald Trump should not be the leader of the GOP.
Co-host Joy Behar asked, “Liz Cheney was removed from Republican leadership by an overwhelming vote in the House last week. You were a vocal defender of hers, saying she shouldn’t be ousted. Kevin McCarthy insists the GOP is a big tent party that email embraces free thought and debate. When you see what happened to Liz Cheney, what does that say to you as who has a place in the Republican Party? Do you question your own place there now?
Hutchinson replied, “No, I don’t question my place in the Republican Party. I’ve been fighting for the Republican Party for over 40 years, which dates me a little bit.”
He continued, “In terms of Liz Cheney, I know they did not want to have somebody outside the tent always talking about the election of January 6, but the fact is everyone in America sees this as a punitive measure for someone speaking their conscience, and that’s not good. Secondly, it looks like the former president is directing who can serve in leadership, and that’s not good.”

This is the RINO game plan for 2022. Pretend Trump is the leader of the party to GOTV for MAGA candidates like Murkowski and McCarthy. The reality is he is not leader of the party. He wasn’t leader of the party when he was in the White House. No way he can be leader of the party playing golf in NJ.

Other then identifying as a RINO Republican I wonder what else this governor identifies as, my gut feeling is what ever else he identifies as it doesn’t involve balls.

Trump’s nomination in 2016 was a thorough repudiation of the entire GOP establishment. Trump himself wasn’t even capable of dragging useless carcasses like Perdue and Loeffler across the finish line in Georgia just a few months ago.

Are you REALLY going to let the media play you by only putting up people who represent the 20% of Republicans who oppose Trump and thereby implying that the GOP is hopeless for conservatives?
If the GOPe were running the show, Liz would still be #3 in the House, rather than trying to figure out a way to leave politics without being REJECTED, big-time, by her own voters. And Elise. who just BLASTED Liz last night, would be off in Kooksville as just another Trump nutcase, rather than #3 and climbing towards the top of the GOP.
As to McCarthy, McConnell, etc. - they’re old and a dying breed, as they cannot even get their own people in, to follow in their shoes, as Elise just showed. Trust me they want to keep their cute little club, but their caucus is scared shitless about Trump...hence where we are.
So I’ll give the GOP more time, at this point - they’ve come a long way already this year, and there’s more coming next year, with Murkowski joining Liz in reject-land, even after trying to rig the Primaries there in her favor.
You really never know how these creatures will turn out, but the odds are always on the side of the corrupt.

Yeh, being he’s term limited I’m thinking he’s looking for a job. Senator John Bozemans term is up in 2022. So, it’s my guess that he may primary him.
