Laurie Rubel, a professor of math education at New York’s Brooklyn College, does not appear to be fond of the discipline she teaches. In fact, she apparently believes math is inherently racist. She recently tweeted, “the idea that math (or data) is culturally neutral or in any way objective is a MYTH.” In a separate tweet she noted that math “reeks of white supremacist patriarchy” after stating, albeit incoherently, “along with the ‘of course math is neutral because 2 + 2 = 4 trope’ are the related (and creepy) ‘math is pure’ and ‘protect math.’”
Appearing drunk on her own peerless wokeness, she added, “I’d rather think on nurturing people & protecting the planet (with math in service of them goals).” Well, maybe just drunk.
What an amazing social justice warrior! What a flawless person! She’d rather “think on” nurturing people! And protecting the planet! Not that she’d actually do anything in furtherance of her stated goals. It is enough that she has stated them. And she wants to take that racist (and no doubt misogynistic, homophobic, and Islamophobic) math and use it “in service of them goals.” It’s a good thing she isn’t an English teacher. Though, to be fair, Ms. Rubel may believe English is at least as racist as math is. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would be a better instructor. Or Barney Rubble.
Seemingly every week another professor claims math, data, facts, good behavior, competence, proper hygiene, discipline, a work ethic, speaking ability, or another such basic building block of a successful society is prima facie evidence of the white supremacist patriarchy’s evil and unwarranted hold on American society. (How racist is that?) Yet, Rubel’s assertion that 2+2=4 is a “trope” still boggles the mind.

Thankfully we still have IMMIGRATION as the days of Americans being educated are pretty much over.
Let’s assume that she (or should I say ‘they’) has had enough education to count to 5. I tell her “ I’m going to give you 2 hundred dollar bills. As I dig them out of my wallet, I say, “I think I’ll give you two more. How many would that be?”
If her answer is “5, because I’m black, but it would be one if I were white.”, that would not only make her not only wrong on both counts, but also it would make her a flaming racist.
I really can’t tell if she’s been educated enough to count to five, but I sure can tell that she’s a flaming racist.

Because 2 + 2 = 4 is a philosophical introduction to objective truth, which logically takes us up the path to a righteous God. We can’t have that.
Is it justifying the failure of POC in math? Minimizing the success of Asians in math?
Does it mean that POC can write 2 + 2 = 5 on a math test and pass, and graduate, and go on to be engineers who design bridges that collapse and then blame Whitey for it?
Every time I see or hear one of these mendacious reprobates puking up their TROPE that Math Is RACIST I immediately think of that old lightning rod Barbie Doll that was introduced years ago that had a pull string when pulled would cause the doll to repeat “Math is Hard.”
How parents allow such craziness to manifest itself in school districts is beyond belief. Kids only get one chance at a decent education, public schools have become super cesspools in the past 60 years. I cannot understand why there hasn’t been any attempts at class action suits against the NEA and all the other overlord bureaucracies that are part and parcel the cause of the lousy education.
2 + 2 = 4 on the perfect Platonic ideal realm of true reality, but can equal 5 in the imperfect earthly realm of reality, if that's what they want it to be.
Wonder if she would take prescription pills or allow a shot to be given her with the dosage given by a “WOKE” physician.

I can see the Liability Insurance rates skyrocketing.
They could build a bridge or reach the moon if only racists would “give” them an engineering degree.
Anything hard to do is out: math, science, jobs, supporting yourself and your families, raising you own children, becoming a citizen-forget it!

When I was having a ct scan recently I thought about all the people in the hospital who have technical training and medical degrees, and the people who invented and improved upon highly specialized machines and have to know science, technology and mathematics-——but I see so many dingbats and morons who support Antifa and BLM and who attack their betters and are lazy anti-American types, where are the young ones going to come from? The Nick Sandmann type young people.
Data, facts, good behavior, competence, proper hygiene, discipline, a work ethic, speaking ability.
Little of that left in so much of the slacker society around today.
