Cancel culture is punishing someone by trying to ruin their livelihood for politic statements they make, or views they hold, that have nothing to do with their job.
Punishing a politician for politic statements they make is not "cancel culture" because making political statements is their job. Claiming that we shouldn't judge a politicians fitness for political office basedob their political actions/statements is absurd.

Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) to attack House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy over the party’s decision to vote this week on Cheney’s position as Conference Chair, the No. 3 spot in House Republican leadership.
Axios reported late on Monday evening that Pelosi was “feeding oppo research against” McCarthy “so others can use the same harsh rhetoric to frame the Republicans as the party of dysfunction.”

McCaskill: What Republicans Are Doing to Liz Cheney Is ‘Cancel Culture’ — ‘Eff Them!’Using that logic, then Cheney's vote to impeach Trump was "Cancel Culture", and then today's vote was a canceling of the canceller.
Cancelling Cheney seems very appropriate to me.
