Video above: Scientist hopes to aid in vaccine hesitancy
McDonald's is partnering with the White House to promote vaccination information on its coffee cups as hesitancy grows about taking the potentially life-saving shot.
Advertisement Beginning in July, customers in the United States will see redesigned McCafe cups and delivery seal stickers that features "We Can Do This," a slogan created by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to promote vaccine confidence. It also includes a website address (vaccines.gov) that directs people to nearby appointments and safety information.
The promotion will last several weeks and the slogan will be printed on roughly 50 million cups.
Average number of COVID-19 vaccines administered dipped below 2 million per day Prior to that, McDonald's said its billboard in New York's Times Square location will also display vaccine information beginning in mid-May.
"We all want to protect ourselves and our loved ones and be together with our communities again," said Genna Gent, McDonald's USA vice president for global public policy and government relations, in a statement. "McDonald's is excited to be doing our part for the people we serve, providing them with simple information that can help keep them safe."
Xavier Becerra, the Health and Human Services secretary, said in a statement that the public-private partnership will "be able to get trusted information about vaccines when they grab a cup of coffee or order a meal."
"This effort will help more people make informed decisions about their health and learn about steps they can take to protect themselves and their communities," he added.
COVID-19 vaccineMyths about the COVID-19 vaccine explained McDonald's wasn't paid by the government for this promotion, according to a person familiar with the campaign.
The "We Can Do This" campaign was announced in March and aimed at encouraging hesitant Americans to get immunized. In a Kaiser Family Foundation survey, 47% of people who say they want to "wait and see" before being vaccinated said paid time off to get it would make them more likely to do so, and 39% said a financial incentive of $200 from their employer would work.
The U.S. vaccination rate has declined from its peak last month, pushing officials to offer new incentives to further encourage the wary, hesitant and inaccessible to get vaccinated. So far, more than 150 million people in the U.S. have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The vaccine manufacturers are immune but McDonalds isn’t. That’s an interesting legal angle. Grandpa died because MickeyD brainwashed him into believing it was safe.
Such a pity I never go to McDonalds.
I reckon I’ll miss this whole thing.
Their hamburger patties will be useful if there’s ever a hockey puck shortage.
Alex Berenson:
Just spoke to the mom of a 21-year-old in the Midwest; three days after his second @pfizer shot on May 1, he was hospitalized with myocarditis. Doctors said he might need a defibrillator. (Luckily he didn’t.)
She asked about a VAERS report; the docs said they weren’t filing one.
If you get vaccinated at @PennMedicine and have a problem, don’t expect them to report it for you. Your side effect, your VAERS report, bud!
“You have been informed of the possible risks (including the fact that there may be some unknown and unforeseeable potential risks), potential benefits and alternatives to receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
You have been advised that receiving it is voluntary and it is your choice to receive it or not.
You acknowledge that you will need to receive two (2) injections and by signing below you are consenting to receive both injections of the vaccine. You understand that you should not receive a second dose of the vaccine if you experience a severe allergic reaction after the first dose and agree that you will notify the vaccine provider if you have experienced such a reaction.
It will be your responsibility to report any adverse reaction to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting system (VAERS)”
Theyve been on my boycott list longer then Chic fil a
The way I see it is basically Anyone who wants the vaccine has either got it or signed up to get it.
In southern New England I keep hearing about how all the sites that used to be appointment only are basically now empty and they are practically begging you to walk up and get it, no appointment necessary. If you listen to the politicians, the reason people haven’t got it yet is it was too difficult, time consuming, etc. to schedule an appointment so they figure the walk ups or the vax sites at the local ball park will get the rest.
They can’t even figure out how to serve a hot cup of coffee without making it 1000°F and I’m supposed to take medical advice from them?
A hell of a lot of advertising is underway to get people to take the experimental vaccine. I think the number of vaccinated people being reported is false.
Oh. WELL. McDONalds. I wasn’t going to get a vaccine, but since McDonalds is pushing it I probably will run down first thing in the morning and get a shot. That’s my go-to place for medical advice.
Instead public health is manipulated by advertising to sell vaccines. No admission that people are having strokes, heart attacks, paralysis as a result of 'vaccines' they don't need.
No discussion about the safe, effective treatments available.
No discussion about what the claims of '95% effective vaccines' actually means:
Yet one more reason why I haven’t been there in years.
It’s now available for as young as 12 in WA
Yeah, what he didn’t say was he also limited himself to something like 3000 steps per day, which was a HUGE factor in his weight gain.
Mickey D's
Jab-ya the Cup...
Yep. They want ALL of us vaccinated. Every. Last. One.
Exactly. They won’t rest until those of us that don’t need the vaccine have gotten the vaccine. It’s insanity!
July?
Millions Woked and Poked…. Loving it. Have a egg McMuffin with your Covid shots. GtfoMickyD
In CT the minor league baseball team will have a J&J Jab station set up at the ball park this season. If you get the jab their you get a Dunkin gift card and four free tix to a later game.
The park is at 100% occupancy, so IMHO, the people attending either already got the jab or have no intention to. Either they feel safe with the jab to go out OR they simply aren’t worried about it.
CT claims to have 70% ish vaccinated to some extent. The big super vax site at the old Pratt and Whitney airstrip is been nearly empty for weeks now, if you do show up, no waits, now no appointments needed. Still empty.
