On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra stated that people in offices where everyone has been vaccinated should wear masks because while if you’re vaccinated, you’re “obviously far safer. We still want you to be as safe as possible.” And “to be safe, you could end up being a carrier and not know it and if somebody hasn’t been vaccinated or doesn’t wear a mask, guess what, there’s still that potential of getting COVID.”
Co-host John Berman asked, “For people who are all vaccinated, if you work in a vaccinated workplace, there’s still a mask mandate. Who are you protecting if everyone’s vaccinated by wearing a mask?”
Becerra responded, “So, we’re trying to make sure that the guidance that is put out there by the federal government is one that really focuses on safety. We can’t mandate people do certain things, but we can certainly give them the best advice possible. And the guidance that the federal government has put out is for your safety. Wearing a mask, getting vaccinated, crucial, if you haven’t done either — or if you’re not doing either one of those two, you’re in real trouble. But if you’ve been vaccinated, you’re obviously far safer. We still want you to be as safe as possible. That’s why the indoor policy should still be masking. But clearly, if you’ve been vaccinated fully and you’re with folks who are also vaccinated, John, the risk does diminish dramatically. But, again, to be safe, you could end up being a carrier and not know it and if somebody hasn’t been vaccinated or doesn’t wear a mask, guess what, there’s still that potential of getting COVID.”

There is no confidence in this vaccine. I’ve never heard or seen anyone who was worried about catching smallpox or measles though they were vaccinated for those.

To be as safe as possible, they wouldn’t come to the office at all. They’d stay at home.
I’ve favored indoor masks before being vaccinated, and understand that the vaccines aren’t supposed to provide complete protection, just reduce the risks of serious illness greatly if you do contract the virus. Still, if what we were told is true, the vaccine combined with, say, checking one’s temperature every day before going to work, and staying home if showing any other COVID-19 symptoms, should reduce the risk to something so small as to be negligible.
In a restaurant, people are not normally masked while eating and the mix of people is far more random than in an office.
Restaurants also tend to be more densely packed than administrative and managerial offices.
Telephone-based workers could work from home.
Fixed.
If they really wanted people in offices to be as safe as possible, they’d mandate seat belts for office chairs.

Covid is not the only infective virus.
Our immune system is updated and reinforced regularly with contact with other people.
When masks are worn, this updating and reinforcing doesn’t occur as frequently.
Wearing a mask is sort of like not updating your computer virus program for prolonged periods.
There is a potential danger in month-after-month mask wearing. I am not sure how much, but there is a risk, which may be greater in less healthy people.
When I travel to California, I quite often get a brief cold because some of the viruses circulating in California are substantially different than those common in Florida.

Get vaccinated and still wear a mask, even if around only vaccinated people as you could still have or get CCPVirus. Once enough people get vaccinated maybe we can stop wearing masks, although you still should wear them even if around 100% vaccinated people.
We want you to be safe? Liar!!
