Why no backup system(s)? Wouldn’t common sense dictate to have backup systems for just such a breach? My friend who owns an insurance office backs up their system every night and runs parallel separate backups during the day; another insurance company in the same block had the same thing happen to them and they lost everything.
I heard on the radio just this morning that fuel transport regulations are being loosened temporarily. Also, a known “criminal gang of hackers” (whose name I’ve forgotten) is being blamed. It’s being reported as an extortion attempt involving ransomware. No word on whether the hackers’ demands are being met . . . obviously. This is a huge and growing problem.
The White House never explains anything, it’s busy keeping Biden in a mask.
This is national security under attack, just like bombing Germany’s factories in WWII.
I knew to keep my energy stocks when Biden won.

Maybe having vital infrastructure connected to the Internet isn’t such a great idea. How did we ever manage before?
It is a private company so no Biden really doesn’t have to address it for that reason but as a question of national security he should. Colonial Pipeline supplies gas for 45% of east coast. When I heard of this I went the next day to top of my tank. Price went up 10 cents. 2.99/ gal.
This was done by people within or very close to the Biden Administration. It is an action that is consistent with their bizarre green ideology.

In a straight up ransomeware attack, the attackers gain access to then encrypt your database and require bitcoin ransom payment for the decryption key to get the data back. An eco terrorist group could just launch the encryption attack, then walk away. No demands for payment to recover the data because they are not in it for the money, but for the damage.
Remember when Biden first took office, he signed an order allowing China to have access to our electrical grid, something Trump had taken away from them when he was president.
