The late great Sen. Joe McCarthy warned of the commie menace and he was destroyed by the commie press.

Liz has this in common with Diane Feinstein. Both use there political positions to lobby for benefit of their husbands business concerns.

The reason people go into government is to become rich while having long vacations

Remember the days of the “red scare”? Communism should have been evaporated after Nazism and Imperialism.Proper history is not taught in school anymore and it shows. Leftism and its tentacles reach far and wide.

Hope she gets exposed and humiliated.

Latham is primarily a business firm. They do both litigation and transactional work. We can agree that in litigation our notions of due process requires that all those who “interact” with our court system are entitled to counsel of their choice and a fair trial. So they represent despicable characters or entities. When I was in practice, so did I. That is part of the ethical obligations of lawyers.

I’ve never done transactional work, and have only had one very big case arising out of a failed “transaction” - funding of a very large complex. Transactional work can range from bond offerings to IPO’s and the like.

It’s all “legitimate”.

Latham is a huge firm - many thousand lawyers, all over the world. I could never afford them, but if I could, I’d hire them in a heart beat.

Didn’t we used to execute people for treason?

"The reason people go into government is to serve their country."

"To Serve Man" ...it's a cookbook.

I was obviously doing it wrong.

I was in the Army for sixteen+ years, and also worked State and Federal government jobs before hitting the Private Sector where the REAL money is. ;)

Never took home anything more than a GS paycheck. OK, maybe a pen accidentally, or a paper clip. *SNORT*

With all due respect, as someone with 50 years of near non stop litigation (civil) history, I don’t agree with your statement above. I could write a book on how unfair and corrupt our legal “system” is. Indeed, it’s 4th world not 3rd world. But, I will make just one or two brief points in response to your statement I pasted above. Point 1; Yes everyone is entitled to a fair trial. Unfortunately the good trial lawyers around here start at $375.00 per hour. I’ve paid one $800.00 an hour and many times $500.00 per hour. Few “normal” citizens can afford that so they just get screwed by THE SYSTEM....particularly men in divorce court.

Point 2 is the “system” is corrupt to it’s core. Routinely, judges are bought off and lawyers sell their clients down the river. I could name names but at my age I don’t feel like getting in a big fight with a bunch of lawyers.

>> the Private Sector where the REAL money is. ;)<<

That will soon all change when all the work goes overseas (something Trump tried to prevent). My son has BS degrees in engineering and computer Science but is underemployed. I have an MS in engineering but was unemployed for 15 months. Your best bet is to attend trade school or find a career in hamburger flipping. Global design for America is to provide services only. All the good jobs are going overseas and Biden is OK with it. I wish college students would realize this fact so as not to be disappointed after graduation. I truly believe that America will soon be done as a significant technical power. It is all done by design so as to keep America on a leash. The people in charge of AMerica have no love for the country. Idealism will be punished. That’s why we have BLM, Antifa, and other unsavory elements, gaining popularity.

I’m sorry you have had such bad experiences. No, at least in CA, judges are not bought off by attorneys. And if you have evidence to the contrary, it is your obligation to present it. If you do not have such evidence, it is unfair to make these inflammatory accusations and charges.

Fyi, your response to my post reeks of condescension as is typical of a lot of lawyers so I do believe you are a lawyer as you claim to be.

That said, your argument that bribery doesn’t go on in our legal system is an argument typically propounded by persons who are either intentionally lying, are practicing duplicity or are honestly and sadly ignorant of the contradicting historical facts.

Either way, in my opinion, what you say is counter to countless articles about our corrupt, 3rd world judiciary; therefore, it disserves readers about this system/franchise/club lawyers designed for themselves and practice in every day. In Texas, the system has been honing its corruption now for 82 years.

So, with respect to your assertions about “inflammatory accusations” and my “obligations”, I suggest you look in the mirror and consider your own obligations about fairness to people caught in “the system”.

Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, and just for the record, I have had several “good” lawyers and I have had many bad ones over 50 years. Indeed, that’s pretty much the way it goes in any profession. But, I’m certain, based upon vast experience as a layman engaged in trying to survive the corruption, that our legal profession is not the Marquis Diamond you polish it up to be,
