Larry Kudlow: No reason for more federal spending after dismal jobs report

There is no reason for any more government spending after the U.S. economy added just 266,000 jobs in April, former top Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow warned Friday.

“There is no crisis. There is no health care crisis. Thanks to Trump, there is no COVID crisis,” Kudlow, a Fox Business Network host and the former National Economic Council director, told Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

“Thanks to Trump, we have low taxes and regulations,” he added. “There is no house on fire. The economy is not crashing. Global warming is not an existential threat . . . There are no crises to justify $6 trillion in spending.”

President Biden responded to the disappointing jobs report by insisting that “we’re on the right track” but “still have a long way to go.” On Capitol Hill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), used the report to call for the passage of Biden’s $4.1 trillion American Jobs and Families Plan to complement the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan.

I always pitch a B$tch about using the phrase “added jobs”. The jobs were there...positions were filled.

A big miss by the “experts” doesn’t mean the report was bad.
This jobs report is not as bad as the “head exploders” think.
The bad part was March’s figures were revised downward by 146000
In fact, Pres. Obama would have called this a rousing success.

- Total employment in the household survey rose by 328,000,
- The labor force participation rate rose 0.2 points to 61.7%, its best level since August
- the employment-to-population level increased to 57.9%, its best since March 2020
- discouraged workers and those holding part-time jobs for economic reasons fell to 10.4%, down 0.3 point
from March for its lowest level since March 2020.
- gross domestic product rose at a 6.4% annualized pace in the first quarter
- new jobless claims last week fell below 500,000 for the first time since the early days of the pandemic.

Pretty much how it was predicted to go by Pres. Trump in 2020.

Prepare for the use of the term “Jobs Saved” that will be recycled from Obami.

Shows what Kudlow knows. The obvious conclusion is we need to DOUBLE or QUADRUPLE federal spending. That will really kick the economy into high gear.
