The worldwide COVID death toll is more than double the official count of 3.24 million, a controversial new study estimates, the U.S. is no exception.
More than 905,000 people have died of COVID-19 in the U.S., 57% more than the official tally, researchers at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington said Thursday in a new analysis. That’s more than any other country.
The official U.S. toll is about 580,000, according to Johns Hopkins University statistics.
Worldwide the total is close to 7 million, which is more than double the official toll of 3.24 million, as recorded by Johns Hopkins University.
Looking at excess mortality between March 2020 through May 3, 2021, the researchers compared that to what would normally happen in a year without a pandemic, then made allowances for ancillary pandemic-related factors. They were left with, they said, numbers reflecting solely deaths from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Influenza is a much less robust virus and is droplet spread. Covid is likely or flirted with aerosol spread and much more robust in terms of surviving exposure.
The mitigation for Covid are for an aersolized transmission. So the mitigation factors of social distancing and masks while likely did little for aerosol transfer of the virus work very well for droplets and influenza. Ergo there is much less influenza.
And not to mention that hospitals get an additional $13,000 for every “covid related death” they report.
Thanks for pointing that out. That makes the study far more believable to me. That excess mortality in the US from the effects of the lockdowns is nearly equal to that from COVID directly seems plausible at a minimum.
I don’t know what a PIC is, but the government said, if you test positive but died from some other cause, you are counted as a covid death.

Well, that works out nicely, for them....as the new covid deaths are likely mostly fake vax related.
well Trump said the cure shouldn’t be worse than the disease when it came to lockdowns so if we believe these “six drivers” then the number of deaths were almost double because of the hardship yet his concerns were dismissed as trying to gaslight ahead of his reelection.
I think it means we are currently living in the extinction event to lower world population. But the trick is to do it slowly like how you slowly bring up the boil on frogs so that they are unaware they are being cooked. 8>)
