If you’re on your way to the grocery store, you’ll be wearing a mask to go in the store. There’s a stoplight near my store and I sometimes put the mask on when the light is red as I’m about to turn into the parking lot.
This seems pretty normal to me. Yeah, I had the mask on inside my car — for the 20 seconds it took me to enter the parking lot and park. I put one on approaching a drive thru window at McD’s, too. Take it off as I drive away.
Why is this a big deal?
It literally takes three seconds to put on a mask.
I keep mine in my pocket and just about when I'm entering the store, I slap it on. The as soon as I exit the doors, I rip it off and stuff it back in my pocket for next time.
It's utter nonsense and I would love to just walk through the grocery store without a mask and trigger all the Karens. But that is not the hill to die on. Plus I need my groceries so getting banned from my local grocery store is not a good move.
Having a mask on when you are in your car just makes you look stupid.
Good grief.
Baaaa.

I agree. Occasionally I have my mind on how much I spend and drive half a mile before I realized I still have the damn thing on. I make no judgments about the people I seeing wearing masks who are driving around in the heavy strip mall areas.

Knock yourself out. Wear it everywhere if you like.
Question: Do you wear it because it makes you feel protected?
Or, do you wear it to demonstrate what a responsible citizen you are?
I’ve done similar from time to time. And I’d point out that many times you can’t tell if there is a passenger in someone else’s car just at a glance. . The Uber drivers, for example, are required to wear masks even if they are driving a minivan and the guy is all the way in the back. Don’t sweat the negative responses you’re receiving.
