Texas is a Second Amendment bastion. And they’re poised to become the one of the newest members of the constitutional carry club. Local politics prevented this push in times past. Now, a bill allowing for permitless carry has passed a state senate committee. Gov. Greg Abbott has been clear: If the bill comes to my desk, I’ll sign it. It now goes to the Texas Senate floor for a full vote, where some reports say passage is not a slam-dunk. The senate is split 18-13, with Republicans controlling the chamber. That’s not a lot of wiggle room for antics. Still, should this pass, Texas will become the largest state in the country with constitutional carry

Oh yea! More evil doers fearing that that regular citizen they are about to harm just might ask if they’re feeling lucky today.

Legal? How dare the Great State of TEXAS defy the clowns....I mean the Leaders of the {not so} free world executive order ( the WHAT?} to rev up the move to disarm the little people !! Maybe Bidens secret police can be a little more aggressive and try to convince TEXAS to conform( that is unless they get to our maker first.

Kind of funny how Vermont has always been constitutional carry and (until very recently) has had very little or no violent crime.

Constitutional Carry starts tomorrow in Utah. You’d think that Texas would have been quicker on the draw on this issue. (ba da bing)

I'm loving that more and more States are passing these Constitutional carry laws. I'm not sure why this is happening. My guess is backlash. Just wish Kalifornia would join the effort. I would love to carry concealed, but it's almost impossible to get a permit.
Here is the main reason not: "You have good cause for the license."
Hell, I'd be happy with open carry as I escort my wife to malls and such.

The instructors should know better. The instructors are selfishly protecting their business. If Constitutional Carry passes, there would not be any need to take the training mandated as a prerequisite to applying for a LTC in Texas.

If one chooses to exercise the constitutional carry law in Texas should the bill be signed into law I highly advise them to get the necessary insurance plan that will cover you and your expensive legal costs should you choose to take advantage of the right to use your firearm.
No matter if you're using it to defend yourself and your family you'll be glad you took out the necessary insurance policy. Invariably like the old saying goes if you use your firearm then understand while you may eventually beat the rap you won't beat the ride and (likely) booking into a jail cell while your case gets sorted out (eventually) by the lawyers and the courts.
