MADISON, Wis.—Christopher Baird owns a dairy farm near Ferryville in southwest Wisconsin, not far from the Mississippi River. He milks about 50 cows and farms approximately 80 acres of pasture.
Like a lot of farmers, Baird has direct loans through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency.
But the dairy farmer isn’t entitled to a new FSA loan-forgiveness program provided as part of COVID-19 relief in the $2 trillion American Rescue Plan Act, legislation touted Wednesday night by President Joe Biden in his address to Congress.
Baird is white. He joined four other white farmers Thursday in suing federal officials over being left out.
Only “socially disadvantaged” farmers may apply for some of the $4 billion in loan-forgiveness funds, which include direct payments to farmers of up to 20% of the value of the loan.

Under Jim Crow black people weren’t burning down black communities, trashing and looting black owned businesses that they and their honest black neighbors depended upon to given them jobs and places to shop. They certainly weren’t setting up police exclusion zones so that surviving black owned businesses or residents within them ended up living in fear.
As for white people, from after 1921 to 2019-2020 white people were not, to my knowledge, significant in burning down black communities either ... but now when they do they claim they are helping.
That’s a hundred years of “progress” for you right there!
Simply, Jim Crow was bad but at least people weren’t idiots back then.

Sounds like the Biden administration is trying to fully restore Dred Scott except the 3/5th person this time around is Caucasian.
Why is a third generation hispanic American citizen entitled to loan forgiveness and not a Caucasian citizen? They are both citizens. Both speak English. Neither came to this country as slaves. What if the hispanic American citizen happens to have more than the Caucasian American citizen? If there was ever a case for violation of equal protection clause, this is it?
