It isn't his condemnation of White Supremacy that is the problem. It is the reason he issued the condemnation that is problematic.

Jeopardy! winner Kelly Donohue condemned white supremacy on Thursday after receiving a wave of hate on social media for making a three-fingered gesture that people falsely associated with white power groups.
“I’m truly horrified with what has been posted about me on social media,” Donohue wrote on Facebook. “I absolutely, unequivocally condemn white supremacy and racism of any kind. People who know me personally know that I am not a racist, but for the public at large, it bears repeating: I am not a racist, and I reject and condemn white supremacy and all forms of bigotry for the evil they are.”

If I recall, Powerline had photo of Jen Psaki flashing that sign.
Or when Bush flashed the Texas Longhorns sign; media called it something else.
I would make them a one fingered gesture.
Also when the Oregon Ducks fans gave the OD sign, the media went nuts saying the fans were doing the 0bama “O” sign.

He explained that he meant three wins and did indeed make a 1 and a 2 sign with other wins, so he’s telling the truth.
As for the apology, I believe Jeopardy! Winners don’t get their winnings until 100 days or so after their episodes air. And I don’t know what requirements regarding social media, morals, etc. they agree to. He may have been “strongly encouraged” by producers to say something like this. Not worth condemning him over.

Doesn’t make any difference Kelly. The “racist” label has been thrown up on the wall and it stuck as it always does. You are now besmirched for the rest of your life and there is nothing you can do about it.
