Israel reports dozens of Indian COVID strain cases. The variant is of concern because it consist of two mutations of its protein, which could make it more resistant to the vaccine.
The Health Ministry has identified 41 new cases of the Indian coronavirus variant in Israel, including four in people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Israel's genomic sequencing system found that 24 of those infected with the variant, which experts say may be more contagious than other variants, had returned recently from abroad. The other 17 contracted it via community transmission, including five schoolchildren.
The Health Ministry and the IDF Home Front Command are carrying out widespread testing at the schools where the children are enrolled.
Twenty-one of the people who tested positive for the variant are foreign nationals.
Last week, Israel banned entry to tourists from India over concerns about the variant's spread and the severe increase in cases there. As part of the new restrictions, only 300 Indian caregivers and students will be allowed to enter the country per month. They will be required to quarantine at coronavirus hotels designated for those coming from India, unless they have either recovered from or were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Israel.
A Health Ministry statement said that new restrictions which would forbid Israelis from traveling to countries with high infection rates (save for exceptional cases) are awaiting approval from the relevant ministries before it can be sent to government approval. Israelis returning from these countries would also need to quarantine, even if they have been vaccinated against or recovered from COVID-19. They may have been vaccinated with one of the notoriously less effective (and occasionally counterfeit) Chinese vaccines.

None of the vaccines in use today existed in 2012 - but their development and testing was informed by prior research, like the study you linked.
Some technical approaches, like whole virus vaccines, were abandoned for corona viruses, because of problems with such approaches, in the attempts in prior decades.
None of the vaccines in use in the USA or Israel use the failed technical approach of the attempts upon which the article you linked is based.
Longitudinal studies are not complete. Test subjects are still being evaluated.
Those vaccine candidates for SARS that made recipients more vulnerable to the disease (ADE), failed testing for that reason, and were not authorized or approved.
Current vaccines for COVID were tested for making people less vulnerable to the disease, proven effective, and formally authorized after independent review.
I have spoken to numerous Indian H1B tourist visitors recently. They all say the same thing ....That THEY KNOW this Covid strain is a bioweapons attack upon India and they ALL hold the CCP directly responsible for all the deaths now occurring in India
So I have a question for you, purely hypothetical:
If President Trump, at this time last year, had come out and told the public this was actually a bioweapon and we would have a vaccine in the fall to help mitigate the effects: would you take the vaccine?

I have lots of issues with the study. For starters, it’s not with people. It’s with genetically modified mice. Because they lack the proper facilities to perform accurate testing. They said so themselves.

SARS-CoV-2 spike protein alone may cause lung damage
by Experimental Biology
Using a newly developed mouse model, researchers found that exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein alone was enough to induce COVID-19-like symptoms including severe inflammation in the lungs. Using a newly developed mouse model of acute lung injury, researchers found that exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein alone was enough to induce COVID-19-like symptoms including severe inflammation of the lungs.
SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is covered in tiny spike proteins. These proteins bind with receptors on our cells, starting a process that allows the virus to release its genetic material into a healthy cell.
“Our findings show that the SARS-CoV2 spike protein causes lung injury even without the presence of intact virus,” said Pavel Solopov, Ph.D., DVM, research assistant professor at the Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics at Old Dominion University. “This previously unknown mechanism could cause symptoms before substantial viral replication occurs.”
Solopov will present the new research at the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics annual meeting during the virtual Experimental Biology (EB) 2021 meeting, to be held April 27-30.
Studying SARS-CoV-2 can be challenging because experiments involving the intact virus requires a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory. To overcome this hurdle, the researchers created a new model of acute lung injury that utilizes transgenic mice that express the human receptor for SARS-CoV-2 in their lungs.
“Our mouse model dramatically reduces the danger of doing this type of research by allowing COVID-19 lung injury to be studied without using the intact, live virus,” said Solopov. “This will greatly increase and diversify the ability to do COVID-19 research. Our model will also likely be useful for studying other coronaviruses.”
The researchers injected the genetically modified mice with a segment of the spike protein and analyzed their response 72 hours later. Another group of mice received only saline to serve as a control.
The researchers found that the genetically modified mice injected with the spike protein exhibited COVID-19-like symptoms that included severe inflammation, an influx of white blood cells into their lungs and evidence of a cytokine storm—an immune response in which the body starts to attack its own cells and tissues rather than just fighting off the virus. The mice that only received saline remained normal.
“These findings show that the genetically modified mouse together with just a segment of the spike protein can be used to study SARS-CoV-2 lung injury,” said Solopov. “We can use this tool to develop a better understanding of how the spike protein causes lung symptoms—even without the intact virus—in order to develop new targets and therapeutics for COVID-19.”
The researchers plan to continue this line of investigation by using the new mouse model to study the effectiveness of several drugs in reducing the severity of acute lung injury and COVID-19.

It was designed to create lung injury, as a mechanism to study lung injury - not as a test of vaccine safety.
Neither actual vaccine or humans were used in this test.
In the actual humans injected injected with actual vaccine, this effect is not detected - despite the fact that we are now approaching nearly a billion such injections around the world.

The function of the spike protein is to match up to existing receptors. COVID-19 would not infect us, if it did not. There is no revelation that the spike protein attaches to receptors all through the body.
The logical leap that the vaccines are going to cause massive inflammatory cytokine storms, has been overwhelmingly disproven, in laboratory analysis, strictly controlled trials (that specifically looked for that effect), and hundreds of millions of doses administered.
These vaccines were consciously developed to avoid that known potential side effect, which had been observed in experiments with other coronavirus vaccine candidates, ten to 20 years ago.
