The Capitol Police want to be Ashli Babbitt's judge, jury, and executioner. They started with "executioner."
Their excuse will be, "She was just a Trump supporter. You know, one of those people."
This is third-world style corruption.
Give her killer a fair trial, preferably outside of D.C.
When was the last time a police officer was successfully sued for what they did on the job? He has qualified immunity. And since the Capitol Police are an agency of Congress then they may have sovereign immunity. That'd be for the courts to sort out.
How long have you been sleeping? Officers have been tried for overdoing use of force for at least the last 8 years.
They're talking about a civil suit and not a criminal trial. There will be no criminal trial because the DOJ and the Capitol Police ruled the shooting was justified. All the family can due is sue for monetary damages and that's what they're planning to do. And they can't sue the shooter because he has qualified immunity. Sue the police force, they have the deep pockets.
why hasn’t the FBI opened an investigation into the violation of Ashli’s civil rights like they do with black shootings?
