Anymore, book deals are just payoffs. It’s semi-elaborate money laundering. Nobody will buy a copy of Schiff’s book, but millions will “sell.”
I resent the fools who go around saying "I could write a book if I took the time" and "They say everyone has a book in them." That diminishes the truth that good writers are a rarity.
Now Schiff's fictional "nonfiction" will be added to the treacherous former Trump asociates (lawyer, general, confidant of Melania, possibly the guy who cleans White House toilets) and the TV news talking heads and two by Comey.
National Book Award and Pulitzer committees will get eyestrain.

Here’s the issue. These book deals have become a money laundering/bribery racket. He’ll get a seven figure advance but the book, sales will be nil and he’ll never have to repay the advance. So, it’s just a way for the Deep State to pay a Democrat a bunch of money. You know, this is how they get rich while in politics.

Sitting Congress-critters should NOT be allowed to profit from their positions by “writing books”, or any other schemes that enrich them. They are in DC as public servants. If they’re using their position to generate income beyond their congressional salaries and benefits, either the proceeds of those efforts need to go to the US Treasury, or be donated to a charity where the member has no affiliation or control.
Alternately, they can resign their position and write as must as they care to private citizens. With Schiff, I’d much prefer the latter.
