....But almost every single witness that day stopped to film the aftermath of an incident they are now all too familiar with: the killing of another Black person in America at the hands of law enforcement.
“No! You ain’t shoot my (expletive) baby!” an unidentified Black man screams at the officer. “You shot my (expletive) baby!”
Reardon, who is white, responds, “She had a knife. She just went at her.”
“You have no respect for life,” another Black man, who lives across the street, can be heard yelling. “No, actually, you have no respect for Black life.”
Another neighbor was heard on body camera footage saying, “You ever hear of de-escalating? No, you guys just shoot.”
While Reardon faced recrimination at the scene, his split-second decision to shoot was commended by the national Fraternal Order of Police, who called it “an act of heroism, but one with tragic results.”
Meanwhile, Akpalo, the only Black officer who responded, began to gather and separate the various witnesses and placed them in police vehicles.
Craig-Watkins, the first woman to be attacked by Bryant, was put in the backseat where dashcam footage showed her weeping for several minutes as dozens of officers from a neighboring department arrived on the scene.
An ambulance arrived at 4:52 p.m. — 20 minutes after the initial 911 call — and left seven minutes later.
Around 5:05 p.m., as Craig-Watkins remained in the backseat, waiting to be interviewed by state investigators, audio of a judge speaking interrupts the flow of dispatches from the police radio....

I am on a lunch break right now, so I leave it to fellow Freepers to pick this apart.
It appears PinkGirl is not a girl, but a young woman of 22, just as I thought, although to me she sounded older, but people raised in foster care often do seem older.
I think it is interesting Tionna (PinkGirl) thought enough of her former foster mother to visit her so many years after she would have aged out.

From what I saw, the cop went from responding from a battery (a man kicking another girl on the ground in the head in the head) to responding to attempted murder by the Ma’Khia person in about a second. He didn’t even have enough time to tell her to drop the knife.
Maybe if they had some respect for the police? Or fear of punishment?
The cop was the guy on the spot and I bow to his judgement.
he told her to drop it.
All colors of people being the same, 20% of people require 80% of all tax payer services. such is the case here.
Have to wonder what would have been the reaction/result if knife gal was just allowed to stab the pink gal. As I saw it, that knife was headed toward Pink’s neck. That was likely to be a fairly serious wound.
Then the people would go after the cop for "Doin' nuttin'" and riots would break out for po po not protecting a black girl.
I cannot abide the AP style guide that demands capitalization of black, but only lower case white. Shove it, AP.
Quite seriously, their lives do not matter to them. Police should just let them kill each other.
What happened before this? What infuriated dad to the point where he’d kick a woman in the head who was on the ground?
Joy Behar said he should have fired a warning shot into the air.
Juan Williams said something similar.
Some congresswoman said he should have shot her in the leg.
I look forward to the official investigation and report on this. But it sure seems that the liberals have already made up their minds.
Was dad trying to stop his “baby” from stabbing someone? Especially in front of the police?
Totally irrelevant...one was carrying a tiny dog, the other a deadly weapon. The officer did precisely what was needed given the circumstances.
Good point.
Didn’t read all this but have a comment.
PinkGirl finally identified?
I saw a film of her getting in the police car. She was talking. But the really interesting thing to note is ...SHE WAS HOLDING A SMALL DOG (likely a Boston or Frenchie) in her arms. This was soon after the attack.
Since I never saw the dog before, and it seems she was in an awkward position when KnifeGirl went for her, I think this is solid evidence the PinkGirl was NOT in a position to threaten KnifeGirl! She was holding a dog!
I hope they take note of this in any investigation.
“unidentified black man” is dead knife girl’s father.
I think I saw in some other video that a guy was the one who took the first girl victim to the ground. Didn't know he was the whittle baby's father. But I'm not 100% sure if I'm recalling it correctly. I'll see if I can find that video.
Perhaps when there is a black on black crime being reported the cops should not respond and grab a donut instead.
Make the race hustlers express their need for more police involvement.
