Writing as a white person, I don’t think that as a whole, the white members of Congress represent the best or the brightest of the Caucasian “race”. In fact, many of them represent the very worst. So, this is probably also true of the CBC.
Actually, it’s not the people IN the ghettos who don’t want the police. At least not the majority of them. But they aren’t helping by not ratting out the gang members who are causing the trouble.

I have been attacked by four people before, a one time thing when I was in the USN by drunk racist black sailors, not bullied or beaten up on an ongoing basis. But it affected me for some time, even though I was fortunate it didn't turn me against blacks, mostly because my petty officer in charge offered to get some guys to go with me to find the guys when I told him...and he was black. To this day, I have ever been grateful to Petty Officer Woods for that. It had important meaning to me.
As for this kid, in a day after day thing, where no adults are doing anything to help, this kid may have seen that as his only way out.
I did a search on that and found this explanation by the lawyer and father:
"...Lawyer David Houston said the boy is a special needs student who was bullied at school and that he may lose a lung or suffer brain damage from the shooting. m The father posted on Facebook on Wednesday night following the shooting, saying his 14-year-old son brought knives to school to defend himself..."
Now I know when people are shot, even known criminals, people seem to come out of the woodwork to defend them as "a nice kid", "turning his life around" and all that.
This just at a gut level seemed not to fit.
That said, the idiot Beatty has no idea what he is talking about. None. Disgraceful.

But on old cowboy shows and movies they did it. Some plaster flecks fell from the saloon ceiling but the hombres took notice. Yessiree.
I taught 25 years in NYC JHSs. Never once did I break up a knife fight. Though I did show one tough Puerto Rican 8th grader how to defend himself when a guy from a neighboring school threatened to knife him on the 7 Train.

Yes, the father said the boy was bullied. The boy had just been punched. In the video, he’s bleeding from his mouth. I shared the video to show what happened to another teen with a knife, allegedly after he’d been bullied (as is claimed in the story of the 16yo girl whose family claims she was bullied). This boy was at school. No teacher tried to disarm him. No one shot in the air. The officer shot the boy. The video shows that people cannot easily disarm a teen with a knife. It also shows that white teens with knives also are shot by police.
He could have shot the knife out of her hand. I’ve seen things like that in the movies.
This is vanilla range experience but I know if I am doing a rapid fire at 5m when my friend says stop I still get 2-3 rounds off before all the data is collected, processed and acted on.
