Former President George W. Bush told radio host Hugh Hewitt on April 22 that he is working with the Koch Network to help President Joe Biden pass an amnesty and cheap-labor bill through Congress.
“We’ve got a coalition of like-minded people working this issue,” Bush told Never Trump Hewitt Thursday.
Bush, whose poll rating dipped to 33 percent in 2008 after pushing amnesties in 2006 and 2007, continued:
Now there hasn’t been interparty outreach, yet. But maybe it’s not quite ripe. My view is if the President is sincere about this, he ought to sit down with, you know, some rational Republicans. But … he’s got to finish his initial agenda, however. He’s got a lot on his plate right now. But eventually, I think there’s a deal to be done.
Bush ignores the economic impact of more immigration, and he, instead, suggested that Americans will be irrationally afraid of amnesty. “What’ll happen is people will scream amnesty. And once you lob the word amnesty out there, it scares people.”
Bush did not comment on the damaging impact of immigration on Americans’ wages, nor about how immigration — both legal and illegal — is driving up housing prices, discouraging high-tech investment, and moving wealth from interior states to the coastal states. Nor did he talk about Americans’ right to their own national labor market and their right to fight with employers for higher wages, better conditions, and more labor-saving investment.

These unskilled blue and white-collar (retail) jobs were the ones typically with high turnover, terrible working conditions and extremely low-pay.
Maybe if these jobs paid more than minimum wage, gave 40 hours a week instead of 29.5 a week...
Even at $12.32/hr (Colorado minimum wage), 25 hours a week is less than $300 a week after taxes....
Sure unskilled lower tier jobs came back (or never stopped hiring) during the lockdowns.
Let’s see when the career-level skilled blue-collar and white-collar jobs come back. You know jobs in the concerts, music, theater, movies, cinema, convention, events, sports, travel, tourism, hotel and dine-in restaurant industry... that industry is slowly starting back up. So let’s see.
Or you expect the 17 to 20 million estimated skilled unemployed in this sector to take an unskilled starter job once again, just to be “employed”?

No, doofus,it doesn’t scare us, it infuriates us, because it is abandoning the rule of law and surrendering the country.
It is also patently unfair to actual immigrants who played by the rules.
The Bushes have a habit of taking all the support they can get from the middle class, based on their supposed ties to Reagan and then disowning them (and Reagan) once they no longer need them. This is due to a lifelong habit of profiting off Deep State ties - for GW Bush’s wife, it began when she crashed into her boyfriend’s car at a point in the road where there was no traffic and unobstructed views across the prairie. She was let off - but never took a sobriety test nor are there records remaining in the case file. GW’s daughter is the lead commentator on the Today Show, but there are obviously thousands more young women that are far more attractive and talented. His other daughter went to Yale and doesn’t strike one as overly bright. GW Bush himself got a slot in an Alabama National Guard unit during the height of the Vietnam War, when my brothers and many other men of the same age were sent into combat. And he never would stir himself to even attend any of the Guard meetings. But you have to pay the Deep State for all these wonderful family “favors” and like a lapping dog, just like his father, GW Bush is anxious to do so by trashing conservative political types and the base of the party that voted for them, and at one time, him. A mark of a dishonest, stupid dissembler and enabler who. like his father, should never have been president.
