Judge broke with precedent and gave the jury instructions before the closing arguments. A little unorthodox, but the instructions were given.
I also read that he did not allow them to have the transcripts (if they had a question about what they thought they had heard in the courtroom) and they had to rely on their notes.
But that really didn’t matter, because I think these jurors had their minds made up even before they were sworn in, and the one or two who didn’t were just plain terrified of retribution unless they decided the “right” way.
