On Tuesday afternoon, a verdict of guilty on all counts came in for former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd.
And immediately, the woke world of sports rushed to comment on the verdict.
LeBron James, as he often does, jumped to Twitter to comment on the nation’s political atmosphere, adding just one word to the discussion: “ACCOUNTABILITY.”
In her own Tuesday evening tweet, former ESPN personality and Atlantic writer Jemele Hill echoed James with his assessment of “accountability.”
Naturally, most of the pro sports leagues and teams had responses prepared and ready to post:
A slew of players and others in sports also joined the din. Their comments quickly flooded social media. Green Bay Packers player Marcedes Lewis soon added his voice to the trial results, writing “Justice. The marathon continues.”

LeBron and the NBA - 💩
Much work to be done = more white people to destroy
Accountability = white cops held to standards that are clearly not to be held by black men.
I’m getting good at newspeak.
“Much work to be done = more white people to destroy”
Precisely!
I saw a seal put a ball through a hoop.
All he said was “Bark! Bark!”
He was smarter than Lebrun.
Sent to prison by a BS kangaroo court.
Why should I care what a sports dude has anything to say other than the quality of shoes he’s wearing?
Compare the statements made by Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Jordan refused to dive into racial idiocy, when he pointed out that the “Republicans buy sneakers too!”
LeBron James jerks his knee, and blurts out with his threat “You’re Next!”
Who sounds more like an adult? Who sounds like they know what they are talking about? Who sounds like a fool, and a tool?
Years ago, Donald Trump said LeBron was an idiot.
LeBron keeps on making Trump right again.
How about ACCOUNTABILITY for the FBI, DOJ, the corrupt State election officials, and the Biden crime family. Now that would be real ACCOUNTABILITY.
MLBPA Executive Director Tony Clark issued the following statement:
I will ALWAYS look at a criminal for what he/she is-—A criminal.
Floyd was a life long menace to his community—even tho he went from place to place. He transported his criminal behavior & habit with him.
He was a heavy drug user...
He assaulted a pregnant woman when he was trying to rob her, putting a gun to her pregnant belly to get her to do what HE wanted.
He attempted to pass a counterfeit $20 bill to purchase what HE WANTED, which would have cost that store clerk the $20 for his error in accepting the bill.
He has a lengthy criminal record that we KNOW OF, and WHO knows what he got by with over the years.
NOW a person I would EVER wish to be acquainted with or to have in my neighborhood.
Whatever assets he was born with, he rejected & traveled a bad road with a bad attitude.
NO SYMPATHY HERE AT ALL.
Since last fall I've been completely boycotting the NFL,NBA,MLB,NHL,NASCAR,the PGA (and others) because I will *not* be lectured by low IQ individuals who make 10,000 times what the most skilled heart surgeon in the nation earns.
If I want to be reminded of how utterly evil I am I'll watch a Nanzi Pelosi speech.
NOW-—== NOT a person, etc....
Earvin Magic Johnson
Thank God...guilty! Justice has been served!!
You could put every cop and white person in jail and they would still be complaining and rioting.
well said.
