Mondale carried his own state. Washington got a unanimous vote of the Electoral College. Monroe would have as well but one delegate flipped his vote so that only Washington would retain that honor.

Yes, Mondale carried his home state in 1984 but lost when he was running for the MN senate seat in 2002 (he filled in for Paul Wellstone who was killed in a plane crash shortly before the election).

After the Senate loss, Mondale himself joked he was the first candidate in history to lose in all 50 states.

He just turned 93 in Jan..

His only child died of brain cancer when she was only 51..and his wife died in 2014. so he really was at the end of the journey, nothing about his daughter having any children, but she did go through three husbands..

Time marches on..
Thanks for answering..

Time marches on..

The waterfall of lachrymose sentimentality is just beginning.
The coming Carter production will make Wellstone look like
a piker, and the Clintons will be worthy of Hollywood.

Hell, Fritz Mondale was mentally sharper when they dragged him out of retirement as an 11th hour replacement for Paul Wellstone, than Plugs is now.

. Weird to think Carter outlived his veep though.

Yeah. Compared to Al Franken & some of the other democrat creeps from MN, he seems rather boring, though.

When you desire power, chucking religion is an easy thing to do (especially if you’re a Dem). God will be instructing these politicians on the fallacy of that course of action on Judgment Day.
