The suspect in the Texas shooting that left three dead Sunday is a former sheriff’s office detective who had been charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, according to a report.

Broderick’s wife filed for divorce and obtained an order of protection after his arrest, according to court records

Chacon said cops were called to the scene at 11:42 a.m. and found all three had been shot. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
He said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police and the FBI have issued “shelter in place” orders in the area.

If he was indeed guilty and did molest the girl, he might have offed himself.
If this is just a vicious lie being used by an ex-wife to gain traction in court, which often happens, then perhaps he snapped and took out the guilty parties.
I can tell you, not from personal experience, but men think about this. They could just easily shoot did their mean vicious ex-wife and be out in 10 years. Or they could go through the divorce process and never recover for the rest of their lives.

It's a well-known practice of gangs to insert their members into the law-enforcement agencies in their communities.
When your career is crime you go the extra mile to frustrate law enforcement. To quote a television character "Do you want to be the ass or the boot?" Obviously Broderick tried to be the boot.
