Mary Murtaugh is a recently retired nurse who says she has never been shy about promoting good health. She wasn’t shy the day she asked her favorite grocery store cashier if she’d been vaccinated.
The cashier was emphatic. No. And she wasn’t going to be. After listening to the cashier explain that she’d had a bad reaction to a flu shot, Murtaugh persisted.
“I told her that I would be worried if she contracted COVID,” Murtaugh says, and the clerk promised to think about it.
Promising to think about something is often no more than a polite deflection. But the cashier did think about it. She later reported she’d gotten two doses of the Pfizer vaccine and thanked Murtaugh for the “gentle push.”
“Sometimes,” Murtaugh says, “all you need to do is plant a seed.”
Planting seeds in people reluctant to get a vaccine can be like trying to garden in the Sahara. When I asked people on Facebook how they’ve handled vaccine resistance among their friends and family, they cataloged the pushback they’d received, a mishmash of fear and fantasy:
Needles hurt. COVID-19 is a Democratic hoax. The vaccines are a government conspiracy. They’re made of synthetic materials and we shouldn’t put synthetic materials into our bodies. The government is using vaccines to insert nanoprobes into our arms.
One woman lamented that an old high school friend wouldn’t get vaccinated because during a visit to the beauty salon she’d heard about a man in Poland who dropped dead upon receiving the shot.
It’s tempting to generalize about vaccine resisters, but they don’t all fall into neat categories. One conservative-voting man I know has gotten the vaccine, but his adult children refuse to.

“What to do when your friends or family resist a COVID vaccine?”
What about friends and family who push you to get a vaccine?
Get new friends.
Shrink your family circle.
I’m leaving a crafts group I’ve been in for over 10 years. They say they’re conservatives, and are in some ways, but lived as recluses until they could get one of the vaccines. For months. In Florida. In the winter. They didn’t even eat out once. Now with the magical vaccines they feel safe and secure.
I don’t say anything; I’m just leaving.
I like Pastor Douglas Wilson’s recent response: “let me think about it.. NO!”
But they told me one of the band mates was so scared by the media etc that she would not rehearse even if everyone wore masks. So they got a replacement. They were so peeved at her - I mean, they understood, they got the fear - but they were like "enough already...time to live." They were more aware of what was happening to the populace than some "conservatives."
I believe there is a massive segment of the population, left and right, that is D-O-N-E with this hysteria. Sadly, there is a smaller but still meaningfully large segment that are actually HAPPY with this masked-up, no-contact, "germ-free" cloisterfest environment and do not WANT a return to normal. Finally, there is the 1/3 of the nation that will vaxx-up for a variety of reasons - and I'm not necessarily calling them out...everyone's situation is unique - who span the political spectrum. It is so weird.
Isn’t prying into people private medical issues, you know, ILLEGAL?!
Archie: "No, Eat-it..."
Ever since the stolen election, what does “legal” have to do with anything?
Gah.
Hate Dems.
Been fighting it from day one.
I laugh at the ambivalence of some stores.
Michaels, for instance, has one sign that says something like “We ask our customers to consider wearing masks” and the other “Customers must wear masks”.
I don’t because sign #1 asks and I answer no.
As a general rule, you have to have it up to get past the Door Stasi but then can run amok as you please, once past them.
Still, far too many are rebreathing their own bugs cheerfully.
Bottom line, if this IS a deadly, highly contagious VIRUS, as they seem determined to convince us, the only thing that will keep you “safe” is a sealed virologist suit.
Anything less is just something to soothe your fears, albeit uselessly.
We have been played.

Bingo. Don’t know if it’s true . Allegedly Fauci and Gates were college roommates at Cornell. Fauci long history with Moderna , and Soros financially tied to moderna.
A Den of self interested thieves
