But they told me one of the band mates was so scared by the media etc that she would not rehearse even if everyone wore masks. So they got a replacement. They were so peeved at her - I mean, they understood, they got the fear - but they were like "enough already...time to live." They were more aware of what was happening to the populace than some "conservatives."
I believe there is a massive segment of the population, left and right, that is D-O-N-E with this hysteria. Sadly, there is a smaller but still meaningfully large segment that are actually HAPPY with this masked-up, no-contact, "germ-free" cloisterfest environment and do not WANT a return to normal. Finally, there is the 1/3 of the nation that will vaxx-up for a variety of reasons - and I'm not necessarily calling them out...everyone's situation is unique - who span the political spectrum. It is so weird.
Been fighting it from day one.
I laugh at the ambivalence of some stores.
Michaels, for instance, has one sign that says something like “We ask our customers to consider wearing masks” and the other “Customers must wear masks”.
I don’t because sign #1 asks and I answer no.
As a general rule, you have to have it up to get past the Door Stasi but then can run amok as you please, once past them.
Still, far too many are rebreathing their own bugs cheerfully.
Bottom line, if this IS a deadly, highly contagious VIRUS, as they seem determined to convince us, the only thing that will keep you “safe” is a sealed virologist suit.
Anything less is just something to soothe your fears, albeit uselessly.
