City officials have released videos and other material showing what happened the night police fatally shot 13-year-old Adam Toledo.
“The apologists I see in this thread are trying to find any means whatsoever to defend the cop who, as someone notes in the thread, clearly recognized his bad shoot immediately....”
****************************************************
So the cop clearly immediately “recognized his bad shoot”? I guess it doesn’t occur to you that maybe... just maybe... he’s emotional because he recognizes that it’s a young kid that he shot.
HA HA HA HA —REAL THINKING???
You’re no better than the media...YOUR thinbking is called GUESSING. GO TO DU WHERE YOU WILL BE PRAISED.
I’ve narrowed down 2 frames at 2:04 (had to slow to 1/4 speed and carefully pause/start/pause) where you can clearly see an object in his right hand - and it looks very much like this gun.
The Local ABC Affiliate did a decent report on the whole thing if you're so inclined.
Only 13 years old. This is sad. He was a kid.
Why was he running the streets with a 21yo man in the middle of the night? Who had the gun - the boy or the grown man?
Too many unanswered questions for now.
"Back in the day" I went through a combat shooting course where they have you doing calisthenics for a few minutes then run about 100 yards with people yelling conflicting instructions at you and blowing whistles, at night. Then they rush you through 4 stations, 2 pistol, one rifle and one shotgun, with popup targets, cover, innocents, etc. Well over half our class had to repeat that section at least once, and a lot of innocent cardboard targets died that night. It was an eye opener, and I can only imagine the extra stress reality brings.
I have heard two of the worst times to interact with cops are after a car chase or a foot chase.
THANKS for your information...that Freepr is just like the MSM...
No verifiable information....but his observations on the internet have him IMMEDIATELY conclude” COP’S FAULT..BAD COP.. MURDER.”
“The cop made a bad decision to shoot an apparently unarmed kid with his hands up and open. Poor training, trigger happy, mistake, or intentional, it is plain wrong. Murder in my personal opinion.”
People are playing the video at 1/4 speed and frame by frame to see exactly what is happening and you are calling it 100% bad shot? If you were confronted by someone who you knew was armed and he spun around would you assume that he was now unarmed? You’re asking for lightning-fast reflexes and extraordinary senses from police.
I’m not saying it was a good shoot, and no doubt Chicago will burn, but I have to give the cop the benefit of the doubt on this one.
I'm not sure what you all are seeing on the news outside the Chicago area TV market, I've seen the local news here (I live 30 miles SW of Chicago.)
So you understand:
The kid had gunpowder residue on his hands. He fired the weapon at some point that evening.
The kid reportedly stashed the gun in the seconds/minute before he was shot by CPD.
The kids motions along with the CPD officer believing he had a weapon caused the LEO to fire, killing him.
The kid reportedly belonged to a gang.
Now, here's a pretty decent report from WLS TV in Chicago about the video and the events.
I'm not looking to argue with you or anyone else. I'm just looking for the facts.
BLM will do what the initials stand for: Burn, Loot Murder.
However, giving my respect to those in the Barrios, they tend to respond a bit different then my fellow black hoodlums’...
the SOP for Team Brown is to track down the shooter(s), and deal with them (and/or perhaps those around them) on a more personal level (badge wearer not withstanding). In their mind, it serves as a deterrent to others, and usually works. Just ask the beat cops in SOCAL.
No sense destroying a whole community just to settle a score.
Makes more sense when you think about it.
Just my $0.02
jimjohn - OUT.
You seem to be the life long apologist, arm chair Aunt Knowitall. No matter what the cop did he is wrong in your eyes, helping the kid-bad, no concern for his own risk-bad, and on and on and on.
I see you failed to answer my question, have YOU ever been face to face with an armed assailant??
The cop said “Show me your f*cking hands.” And the image in post #19 shows that the kid did exactly he was ordered to do. And he wasnt holding a gun at the time.
For what I can tell, this was a bad shoot. But I will cut the cop some slack on this one. He wasn’t grossly negligent like that gun/taser female cop was.
This cop gave a reasonable - but wrong - command in the heat of the moment. If the cop held yelled “Freeze!”, or better yet, “Get on the ground!” we probably wouldn’t be discussing a fatal shooting now.
Why is the slide locked open?
The 21-year-old needs to be charged in the death of the 13-year-old since Felony Murder Rule applies in Illinois.

Single frame showing gun in hand. He threw the gun as he drew his hands up.

Now they say no gun. And it’s just a stupid kid.
Oh my.
> Why is the slide locked open? <
I don’t think the police would clear the gun before photographing it. So I’m guessing the gun was simply empty (all rounds had already been fired).
Watch it again frame by frame. He had a gun in his right hand as it came out of the pocket.
This isn’t a race to judgement where the first one wins. You just made an error in judgement that encouraged the AntiFa mob.
Just hearing this story now. Of course, those of you who live there would have more info from local news. Thanks for sharing it.
It’s still a sad story that a kid got mixed up with a gangbanger and ended up this way.
