Televangelist Pat Robertson during Thursday’s “The 700 Club” on CBN, argued “the finest” did not work at police departments, which is why
After demonstrated the difference between a Glock handgun and a taser while discussing former police officer Kim Potter’s claim that she mistook her sidearm for a taser in the killing of Daunte Wright, Robertson said, “There’s just no comparison.”

He’s still around?????
Misogynist!
it’s probably true. being a cop has been a maligned profession since BHO year 1.
My God, that man is still alive???
I am not a policeman and not necessarily their (particularly woman) largest supporter. However I can see how mistakes are made under the stress they face. I recall seeing a video a little while back where it escalated and the woman got back in the car and shot a policeman before one could figure out what was happening. He shot and killed her right after. I don’t envy them.
Around here they carry the taser with the butt toward the front, firearm with the butt toward the rear. It’s not like they are adjacent to each other on the belt where a quick grab might return the wrong one.
Why don’t senile Pat’s friends and family keep him out of the public eye. He has no business pontification on anything.
Not helpful. We need to move past this foolishness that cops have to be perfect in highly stressful situations. People just don’t always react with a perfect response. That does not make the cop a murderer or a victim a saint.
The victims who are shot usually do something to provoke . . . not reasonable to expect an officer to react perfectly when they are unexpectedly provoked or startled. . . THAT is on the victim, not the officer.
Just wait for the new affirmative action hires at United Airlines. The headlines from their error-caused events will knock everything off of the front page.
Gun has different feel and weight than a taser; secondly the gun should have been on the dominant side and the taser on the other. In this case they were both together. A twenty-five year veteran didn’t know the difference even in the heat of the situation? I’m not defending her one way or other, just an observation.
If I were a big-city cop, I’d figure out a way to quit immediately.
Zero respect, unlimited liability, purposeful targeting by politicians, fake media outrage.

Well put-[ e3xactly right-
The fact is too that out of millions of arrests in this country, all over the country- only 2 unarmed black people were killed unjustifiably by cops all of 2019, while 54 cops were murdered by suspects
Pat robertson is either senile, or a liar- or woefully uni9nformed- We have a very fine police force- who are very very careful about the lives they take- Mistakes will happen from time to time but they are extremely rare compared to the millions and millions of encounters that cops do every year- the % of bad calls by cops is e4xtremely low- but people wouldn’t know that based on what the lame stream media does to amplify every shooting into a racist event, and lying and making it seem like unjustified killings are rampant- when the facts show they are not- not even close-
Sadly trouble makers like pat have bought into the liberal lie that there is ‘systemic racism’ in the police force and falsely accuse the cop of being less than fine
I’d like to know how many extremely dangerous hostile, volatile domestic abuse and violent crime situations pat has been in where split decisions mean life or death!
Really?
A few years back, I needed to fire a technician who worked for me, because he was a perpetual screw-up and was always costing us money with his carelessness and poor attention to plant safety.
When I called him in to inform him that he was going to be let go, before I could get the words out, he informed me that he’d accepted a position with the Niagara Falls Police Department and that this was his last week.
This is the quality of person who gets hired by the police.
I figure the police, like the military, are mostly looking for grunts who will follow orders, not independent thinkers. I’m sure there are room for some smarter people, as officers, detectives, etc are needed, but those are the exception, not the rule.
I’m gonna come right out and say it. The affirmative action hiring of women, who tend to be more panic-prone, is part of the problem.
The tasers cops carry today look and feel like a pistol. As Tam said on her blog, this is maximally stupid. She recalled the Japanese word “poka-yoke”, which essentially means “idiot-proof design”. When I was still engineering automation systems for Detroit, this was Guiding Principle #1. But not for designers of tasers, apparently.
Leaving that out, if you watch the video, the officer *also* endangered one officer and almost shot the other.
Do you think it’s a good idea to have an officer that is a danger to other officers?
Male officers have done the same thing, actually. This is a training failure among other things.
