Ukraine has warned Russia that it will bear 'very painful' consequences if it invades as Vladimir Putin continues to mass his forces in eastern Europe.

Dmytro Kuleba, the country's foreign minister, added that Moscow is 'openly' threatening Ukraine with 'destruction' by stationing 80,000 troops along its border - with more arriving every day.

He issued the warning following a meeting with the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - NATO allies in the region - saying 'the four of us condemn the exacerabtion of the situation by Russia.'

Russia and China will each make their move within 2 weeks of each other. We will do nothing.

What is Russia’s pretext for this? Not like Ukraine is an actual threat.

This buildup happens every year and every time Russia does a buildup...Ukraine goes begging to NATO....even though they are not a member. They’re trying so hard to get membership. In the meantime, the Ukraine governemtn does nothing for its people and many wish they were still under Russia.

Biden team: “don’t do it!”

Putin: “or else what?”

Biden team: “or we will more strongly tell the world you were wrong.”

Putin: “Thought so. Bugger off.”

This might not be a bad thing. Americans could use a little schooling on their love of communism. JMO.

Maybe Biden will suddenly become really sick and have to depart and Kamala will take over that really ought to scare Putin and Xi, I mean who would want to spend any length of time in the same room with that person, the knee pads and mattress strapped to her back are very distracting...

“Biden’s call for restraint” = Biden’s sternly worded letter

“many” support Russia

In elections since 2014, support for parties sympathetic to Russia collapsed. Effectively splitting off Crimea and Donbas region was addition by subtraction. By removing the provinces most sympathetic to Russia, the remaining provinces became overwhelmingly pro-west. In 2012, the leading pro-Russia party finished with 30 percent; but in 2014 9 percent and in 2019 13 percent.

Putin (along with the CCP) have the one thing the West most certainly doesn’t have - the massive support of their non-elite people (and they don’t need elections fair or fake to confirm this) together with TIME. Xiden most definitely doesn’t have time on his side - thankfully.

The USA should stay far, far away from this conflict. But just out of curiosity, if Russia did invade, what would their war objectives be? It seems they could enter the area already controlled by pro-Russian forces with no fuss. So presumably their war objectives would be greater than that. But would they really want to take over the entire Ukraine?

What is Russia’s pretext for this?

Seizing the moment because we have a corrupt, senile, weak dullard in the White House, and a cabal of woke generals busy dyeing their hair purple and purging our military of real fighters?

Here's a pretty good dividing line to end the conflict.

What is Russia’s pretext for this?

Putin is looking for amilitary victory to bolster his sagging image.

"After two decades in power, Vladimir Putin’s approval ratings are at an all-time low as Russia’s economy reels under the impact of the coronavirus epidemic and the slump in oil prices.

"People are disenchanted with the ‘presidential republic’ and iron fist they believed in 20 years ago,” said Sergei Belanovsky, a Moscow sociologist who helped to produce polling that predicted the biggest protests of Putin’s rule in 2011-2012 and is now tracking a renewed increase in negative attitudes toward the leadership of the country."
