ERIE — About 150 unaccompanied children found at the southern border of the U.S. have arrived in northwestern Pennsylvania and will be housed at a dormitory at the Pennsylvania International Academy.
The children landed Tuesday night at Erie International Airport and were screened by a physician, dentist and nurse, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said.
The Pennsylvania International Academy is designated as an emergency intake site by the department. Six children were assigned to each room in the 648-capacity dormitory, with more children expected in the future, the department said.
A department spokesperson told the Erie Times-News that the majority of the 146 children have relatives in the U.S. and the process will begin to try to connect them with those family members.

What the migrant children arriving in Erie will expect when arriving at the Pennsylvania International Academy
The children will go through a screening by a team of physicians upon arrival at the academy.
“A pediatrician who’s also a psychiatrist, a dentist, and a nurse, and they’re looking to recruit more. But when the children arrive, they will be screened and anybody that needs medical attention will get it,” said Trish Danner, Regional Outreach Specialist for HHS.
After the screening, the children will be given a bag of brand new clothes donated by local clothing stores.
“Including pajamas, underwear, socks, clothing for the next few days, shoes, everything, toiletries, and they’ll be able to go and shower and get ready for the night,” said Danner.
Danner said that no donations are needed at the moment, but check back in a few weeks.
“All 260 beds are made and ready just in case there’s people that need to be quarantined so they have another place to go. There’s crates full of medications. The food service being brought in,” said Danner.
The main objective for children being housed here is to find a sponsor. Depending on the individual case, it usually takes about 35 days.
“What’s important to note here is that the kids are really the, you know, the idea is to connect them with a sponsor and that sponsor is a parent, sibling, relatives, family, acquaintances, somebody who’s already here in the United States making that connection,” said Dylanna Grasing, USCRI of Erie.
Most likely positive for the China virus as the ones not infected are the ones they let flownder in cages at the border. They can’t contain the influx of and contain the China virus simultaneously so the virus gets to come to your home town while we maintain muddy optics at the border. Maybe the Vice president in charge of the border crisis will perhaps visit the border area to iron all this out before it becomes obvious that the current administration hates traditional America.

The legislation also makes the benefit fully refundable and expands it to low-income families.
For the first time, it also shifted half of the credit to advanced direct payments which the IRS was assigned to distribute starting in July, a move that is expected to boost millions of children out of poverty.
Children younger than 6 would receive $300 a month in the second half of the year while kids 6 and older will receive $250 a month.
If I were the Governor of Pa, I’d pack them all on a bus and give them a one-way ticket to The District of Columbia.
