Protect Both Religious Freedom and LGBT Rights: Support the Fairness For All Act, Not the Equality Act [Traitor Alert]
Public Discourse ^ | April 6, 2021 | Elder Jack N. Gerard

The time has come for people of faith to acknowledge reality and seek a resolution that protects both LGBT civil rights and religious liberty. The opportunity to be champions of religious freedom, opponents of invidious discrimination, and peacemakers lies before us. Most Americans favor protecting LGBT people from discrimination in the marketplace. Most Americans also favor protecting religious freedom, but they will be less willing to do so if they see our religious freedom claims as an excuse for permanently denying the reasonable demands of LGBT citizens. Moreover, despite the hostility of some professional LGBT advocates—who may never be satisfied—few LGBT people want to harm religious liberty or faith communities. Many are themselves deeply religious. The vast majority merely want the same civil rights protections that religious people already enjoy—legal protections against unjust discrimination so they can get a job, a place to live, and safely go about their lives.

The treachery is almost more than I can take. First, it was the Heritage Foundation, not it's the Witherspoon Institute. I've been an avid support of The Public Discourse for several years, but have just cancelled my monthly donation based on this single galling column which capitulates to the Gaystapo, which is absolutely impacable. I would encourage any other supporters to do the same. They have joined the enemy.

The Human Rights Council alphabet people are rabidly anti-Christian. They aren’t for human rights. They oppose religious freedoms.

Freedom of assembly (1st amendment) includes both the freedom TO assemble and the freedom to NOT assemble. If I am a private business owner, I have the right to serve a limited set of customers.

Those alphabet soup types have exactly the same rights as any other citizen, no more and no less. They want more.

Heritage Foundation went homo?

They've been going soft on it for several years, since Jim DeMint left, but the newest black woman director is a soft "BLM" type, casting racism as a major problem. It is horrifying what they are becoming.

Heritage went with Jim DeMint. The current idiot in leadership is a grievance pimp.

Even if it turns out that this particular act would draw a perfect line between those activities and transactions that must be allowed regardless of sexual orientation, and those which can be denied due to religious freedom concerns the woke and wounded brigade would show up to claim a double standard.

That is what happened with civil unions. How long did those last before the cries of "double standard" and we had gay marriage imposed nationwide?

The really sad thing is that we got gay adoption over a decade before gay marriage. Americans supposedly care "about the children" but evidently not when they are aborted before birth and given into the hands of perverts.

So maybe today Christian-owned B&B's will have to provide rooms to gays, but won't have to provide space for gay marriages, but that won't last long.

Absolutely. It's all about incrementalism for the demonic left. Look as how quickly the Boy Scouts fell after they just allowed professing homosexual boy members in. I will be seen as blood in the water to attack more viciously, and the defenders will have no rational defense to stop them.

I don’t see it as the person being a traitor. He’s just really misguided. This is a reasonable compromise, but the Left doesn’t want compromise. It has to have granny bakers making those cakes for the activists even if your average gay couple couldn’t care less because destroying every inch of dissent is a key part of the revolution. Anything that stands in the way has to be dismantled. It’s black/white for them.

But there’s a deeper problem here that is VERY un-PC to talk about and it has nothing to do with gay rights specifically. This ball really got rolling a long time ago when protections went well beyond merely stopping the deplorable Jim Crow laws. Freedom of association and religious freedom were fatally wounded decades ago. But no on the right is willing to make that argument...

Repealing public accommodations laws would be like trying to dismantle Social Security or Medicare, but that's what it would take to reestablish the Constitution's true meaning of right to free association.

The author appeals to fake push polls as well, quoting levels of up to 90% support for these fascist sexual orientation regulations. That is a real pile of BS.

IN THE RACE FOR HOUSE SEATS EVERYONE RUNNING UNDER THE DEMON-O-CRAT LABEL VOTED FOR THESE TWO ISSUES
ABORTION FUNDING SUPPORT AND THIS. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE USED IN THE CONGRESSIONAL RACES BUT WAS NOT

FORCE Schools To Let Male Athletes Compete In Girls’ Sports...Any Dem congressman who didn’t support this got kicked out by holding their primary in remapped districts. This effort by those in control of the demo party shpould have been used to demonstrate where that party is coming from. Why weren’t those votes an issue in this 2020 campaign by the Republicans ? Not just where this occurred but nationally?

.. Democratic candidate for America’s Vice President California and likely presidential replacement Sen. Kamala Harris sponsored a Senate bill that would that would force funding public schools to allow biologically male athletes who identify as transgender on girls’ sports teams.

In March 2019, Harris cosponsored the Equality Act, which would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 . Among other things, the bill would force public schools to expand female athletic teams to include biological males who identify as transgender girls

.Also did this http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3877896/posts and this http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3880192/posts

.. HERE’S HOW THEY TREATED CONSERVATIVE CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS WHO DONT SUPPORT FUNDING STUFF LIKE THIS

.. And why there is no such thing as a Conservative Dem in Congress An example is Illinois 3rd district
..
Todays Democrats weren’t happy with this father William O Lipinski then sucessor son Daniel also votes against abortion and then be the only congressional democrat to vote NO on allowing men to to call themselves a women and compete with women in college sports. To stop this the demoncrats decided to remap his district of areas which supported him for the 2020 primary.
