the plan, which would involve Idaho expanding its border to the Pacific Ocean, could grow Idaho's population by 50% and make it the nation's third-largest state in terms of area, KTVB reports. The plan calls for around three-quarters of Oregon becoming part of Idaho. Supporters say residents of parts of southeast Washington and northern California would also welcome the chance to become part of a red state.

Why would any state want to become part of Oregon, Washington and California and assume their debt and civil unrest?

I’d be more interested in those parts breaking off their current states and forming their own state. It’s been proposed before as “Jefferson”.

There is going to be more and more of these state regrouping discussions and movements as the left keep ruining this country. The Balkanized States of America.

Without a map or a photo of a good looking girl, I can’t take this article seriously.

Helpful: Red/Blue County Map from 2020 (Yes, it is somewhat flawed, due to election theft):

A smarter thing to do make multiple states, not a larger Idaho. New States: East Washington, East Oregon, North California, West Pennsylvania, South Virginia (technically South & West Virginia), North Michigan, North Wisconsin, West Minnesota, South Illinois, East Mexico (eastern New Mexico). Yeah, I'm going a little overboard, but so do leftists. Might as well beat them at their game. Just think about packing the Senate.

Idaho would turn blue in a heartbeat if this were to happen. It’s on the way to being the next Colorado. Give it a Pacific coast and Boom another blue state.

The report is too skimpy on details to make a clear judgement.

Well, yes, but you see, the “west coast of Oregon” (southern Washington State) is overdue for a magnitude 8-9.5 earthquake in the subduction region just off the coast (Cascadia Fault). It trips off regularly at a 275 year average with mag 8.5 to 9.0 earthquake offshore, and tsunami’s averaging +100 feet across the vcoast - destroying villages as far away as Japan and Korea.

The last mag 9 earthquake off of Oregon was late January 1700. (We know the exact day from Japanese tax records.)

Now, every 275 years is FREQUENT for major earthquakes, and that these are “regular” at that short an interval means that the next one “should have” occurred in 1975-2000.

The next mag 9.0 earthquake off of Oregon’s coast is now overdue by 45 years (It’s been 320 years since the last earthquake.) IT IS COMING SHORTLY. Not some loose “geological “soon” like the 60,000 - 200,000 “soon” for the Yellowstone volcano blowout, but soon meaning the next ten years.

Best idea for the new state is to leave the coastline repair expenses to the current (broke) Oregon and Washington (democrat-socialist) governments.

All the Oregon concerned counties have voted to leave. Washington & CA counties I don’t know how they shake out, but I’d assume there was some measure to join Greater Idaho they passed

They aren’t seceding so their is no secession aspect to trigger a civil war.

These are good parts of both states. Excludes King and Multnomah counties (Seattle & Portland).
