For many students, the reflection of the face staring back at them in the classroom can be indicative of success, according to California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. He supports Assembly Bill 520.

Perfect timing - thousands just entered the US illegally.
No, they look like sweet little penguins. (Note: that is said with extreme affection.)
Is white a color?
I have a buddy still in CA and he tells me nearly every single commercial now has black folk in it and that they still complain there are not enough black folk in the industry.☺
We’ll have segregation soon enough, and since the country probably won’t be majority white soon, it will become BALKANIZATION
I remember all the fuss about South Africa and Rhodesia switching to black rule because they were the majority. Now they are both hell on earth and the commie pigs want minority rule here.
I was saying the same thing today - we are going to be Balkanized due to the idiotic left woke crowd. It is currently happening and will most likely take about 20 years for everyone to move to free states and free areas/counties in those states. Areas where the local elected sheriff respects the Constitution.
The Semi-United States of America.
I have a friend who left SA a few years ago. It’s like being on an island of dysfunctional criminals. He loves the US.
75% of students are non-white and 1% are black teachers?
The education system bends over backwards to educate and train blacks, free this, free that, grant this, scholarship that....
I guess free doesn’t always bring the desired results.
They will get it too. The educational system and birthrate will see to that. They are almost there. Each year they increase while we decrease.
kind of offensive they think all “white” people look and act the same
Blacks keep telling us we need to hire more black male teachers only black males don't want to be teachers.
The last thing a black males wants to do is try to teach young black males.
Followed soon by complaints that it’s racist to assign teachers of color to have to deal with unruly, disruptive, low performing students.
The main criteria for being an educator is to be able to relate and understand what aspects of a subject a student needs to capture. Of course having things in common with the teacher is part of the way this is accomplished. I could relate to students if they were Jewish, male, athletic, interested in debate,, safety, engineering, and school spirt. This leaves out a few groups but I still got pretty high marks for relating. I also knew my subjects to a high enough degree that I could take any problem in the text and teach it cold. I recommend these as criteria for teachers and at the same time a school should be open to as much diversity as applicants who apply with the above skill sets in teaching.
It was helpful that I also had an engineering career and could talk about real world situations.
One serious problem here is that people with the right skills and education and experience to be good teachers can also be good engineers, managers, or you name it. So in fact they have to want to be teachers because the schools do not want to pay the premium salaries that these people would capture in the real world.
To drive this home, there were several minority teachers who knew that they were good. At my aerospace company there were several minority people who were good engineers. The numbers were in the range of 5% in both places. There were far greater percentages minorities in the community of the SF Bay area.
Qualifications? Merit? Skills? Ability? Judged by context of character?
Anyone?
To Sir With Love was a fictional Movie.
It’s going to take one or two generations, plus numerous highly expensive class action lawsuits, to reverse this new wave of benign racism. This new wave of government approved/required racism is mostly based on low expectations of certain minorities.
Losers talk and think like THIS:
“They (certain minorities) are mostly incapable of learning how to be civilized and responsible as per our standards, so we must be ready to overlook certain anti-social behavior that we ourselves have prompted!”
The nuns at my high school were smart, funny, but firm. I remember several of them fondly. They were excellent,, committed teachers..
The only one who occasionally irked me was Sister Bertha. Her nickname was Conan the Librarian.
I was an avid reader, but never felt comfortable going to the school library even though it was quite extensive and peaceful. She made you feel like you were trespassing.
Nevertheless, I hope she is enjoying a long and happy life.
