We better start thinking about it – because the solar e-waste glut is coming soon. When? In 2050, the International Renewable Energy Agency projects, up to 78 million metric tons of solar panels will have reached the end of their life.

The fact that “climate change” can be retroactively invoked to explain virtually any weather event or trend - even completely opposite ones such as drought and heavy rains - casts doubt on the scientific legitimacy of climate “science.” I think this flaw is called “non-falsifiability,” which means that the theory has no predictive value.
These guys were total mental midgets. They were trying to sell the idea of the solar farm based on financial savings. I ran the numbers before the meeting, breakeven was in year 28. There were no long term maintenance contracts as part of the deal - something like 10 years. You can easily guess that there will be maintenance after year 10, and it will be expensive. At every turn these RINOs were throwing climate change bull crap at me. At one time, the township manager said, "you're in computers (he knew I was a software engineer) and you remember the days when businesses bought computers and there wasn't a payback. That's how computers got so popular and look where are now." What a eff'ing idiot. I never remembered a profitable business paying for something major that wasn't going to have a payback and generally in the very near future. This was your typical lazy ass government employee - a taker. He never built anything in his life.
These solar pimps also extolled the credits from the power company, and the state/federal funds that made it an even better deal. It was like the money came out of thin air and that I didn't pay my light bill or I didn't pay state and federal taxes. It was like free money that local citizens were getting. Of course, there was about 60% of the project being paid by the school district. You just knew school taxes were going to increase.
Anyway, the project was never very successful. They ran into issues almost immediately because they had to fence the farm in, and cutting the grass under the panels cost extra money. At one time they even had goats handling the grass until some of the died. They never achieved their goals (and the goals were never 100% electricity generation).
There's projects like these all over the place that will end up polluting the environment. It's because people are low-IQ'd, have no finance education, and they buy into the ridiculous notion that man can save the earth.
Replace ‘Climate Change’ with the word ‘Witchcraft’ and it will make the same sense.
Where I worked payback on capital investment had to be realized in two years.
Amaze your friends and any nearby ‘climageddonists with these easy comments. You can even wait for answers:
1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.
2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.
3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.
4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.
5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.
6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.
7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.
All good questions. I’ve seen you post them before. The last one: Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans, always stuck in my crawl. At least when I was growing up, I was taught that glaciers were glaciers because they melt and recede. Those are two of the characteristics of glaciers and glaciers have been melting since the last ice age. There’s a generation of kids that now think glaciers shouldn’t melt and somehow it is their fault. That’s child abuse on two levels.
Sooner. The technology is constantly changing, and solar panels are quickly obsoleted. There is a company that has developed spray-on solar technology. It is not dependent on the angle of sunlight, is clear, and can be sprayed on the sides of skyscrapers. Much more surface area on vertical surfaces to generate electricity than small surface area rooftops. Existing panels will be obsolete within ten years. The new technology still won't meet our energy needs into the future, but is less harmful than existing panels.
P.S. I’ve been following the stock of one company developing spray-on solar coatings. Solar Window - LiquidGlass. It was trading around $19 a share earlier this year, but has dropped to $13 a share. Volatile.
Actually, Joseph Farah can’t drub anyone. No one pays attention to World Nut Daily. Certainly not the media or Joe or anyone in a position of authority.
Bullcrap
They have 100 plus years lifespan
I’ve done maintenance on systems from the 1970s.
Voyager. Launched in 1970! Is still Sending back signals
how do you think that happened? 50 year old panels and batteries !
As the comparisons to Trump are drawn , leftist presidents will be-clown themselves ever more in their efforts to try to outdo Trump.
They will fail.
Voyager is nuclear powered. Specifically plutonium-238, which has a half-life of 88 years .
You’re racist, bigoted and probably white. You probably also only think there are two sexes and that we should be taxed less.
How dare you! Get with the program!
I hear they’re handing out vaccines, better make sure to get that, it might fix you.
All heavy sarcasm of course heh.
Yup. RTGs. Anti nuke protesters would show up at KSC and CCAFS anytime there was an RTG aboard a spacecraft.
