Imagine she shot a Trump supporter - we would never know her name.
You said it all.
Helluva price to pay for being stylish.
the difference between a taser and a gun.
= = =
She is female.
And a trainer!
Who murdered Ashli Babbitt???
Still no name.
Head of the police union.
She needed to be slapped like Pyle in Full Metal Jacket.
*SLAP*
What side was that, Officer Potter?
Sir, Glock side, Sir!

Sir, Taser side, Sir!
Not until they promoted her to chief, at least.
26 years...
Is it too late for her to retire?
It’s mind boggling to me how she could have made such an incredible mistake, but people can do really, really, stupid things in the stress of the moment. Even experienced cops. What I’m wondering is why the other officer (who is black) was not able to cuff Mr. Wright. I saw a photo of him attempting to do so by the car door.
This is my taser, this is my gun..
Bears repeating.
Why don’t you wait til we find out more? She seems to have been a very good officer and was actually training a rookie when this happened.
They are trained to keep their taser and their gun on particular sides of their belt. There’s some speculation that her normal configuration was different that day, because of the training, but she automatically reached to where her taser would normally have been. (She may have been left handed, training a right handed person, or vice versa.)
You have to realize this all happened in a matter of seconds, because the man had suddenly started resisting arrest and could not be controlled or restrained physically by the officers.
She never had to say “this is my rifle, this is my gun…"
Blind leading the blind.
I don’t know how they are trained but I would think you would keep the taser on your weak side in a cross draw position.
Yes, a horrible mistake while under stress.
But the perp caused this by resisting arrest....the same as in every other event like this.
The perp could have taken a pistol from an officer very easily and there could be multiple dead officers instead (but then it would not make news).
