The judge presiding over Derek Chauvin's murder trial denied a motion by the defense to sequester and re-question the jury in the aftermath of the fatal police shooting of Daunte Wright near Minneapolis Sunday night.

Good news: appeals court attorneys will take it.
Agreed. Hard to believe the motion wasn’t granted, but possibly the judge thought it was too late - the jurors probably already heard about it.
Lord have mercy if Chauvin is found not guilty, or guilty on lesser charges. We know damn well the jurors will be doxed and harassed as sure as the sun rising in the east.
Chauvin is a sacrificial offering to mitigate certain massive nationwide destruction, NO court is going to stand in the way of this “justice.”
I presumed they were already sequestered.
I will say this: if I was on the jury I would see this as a completely separate incident with zero bearing on the floyd case.
This is a political show trial. You do understand that. It is held before a kangaroo court with a kangaroo jury. It is not to be confused with a trial in a Court of Law that is governed by rules. A Jew appearing in A People’s Court in the 1930s Germany had a better chance of getting a fair trial.
Just sending a message to the jury. . .you decide wrongly then the riots and deaths and destruction will be your fault and you will be destroyed.
Chauvin missed that magic 24 hour window. He should be somewhere having a beer with Snowden or somewhere so far South that they all speak German.
Every modern cop needs a bug out bag. Go to the Mexican side of town and spend that thousand for a birth certificate, a passport and a credit card in a fake name. Have 10k in bitcoin and some cash. Go to the truck stop and put your phone on a semi headed west then you go East. Or have a backpack with camping things and head out into the wilderness with a copy of War and Peace. Whatever, just have a plan.
You have a narrow window to recognize and bail, just like an Air Force Jet Pilot ejecting!
That’s why you would never be allowed on such a jury.
One juror even lived in the city where it happened
I presumed they were already sequestered

Nope
Defense wanted that from the start
Very possibly reversible error.
CC
Judge setting up the guilty verdict which will easily be overturned on appeal. Kicking the can down the road.
If you were on the jury you would be terrified of being doxxed if you voted to acquit—and you _would_ vote to convict regardless of the facts and law presented.
You know why—because you are human, and unless you are totally insane you will not want to risk your livelihood (and possibly your life) to save one cop.
This is a kangaroo court—pure and simple.
is it that easy to get a fake birth certificate?.....etc....
Yes, about 10 million Mexicans do exactly that.
I was on a jury in a four week long civil case in King county superior court in Seattle back in the 80’s. It was going on at the same time a case was decided against the plaintiffs in a suit against Jim Beam because the mother drank during her pregnancy and the baby had fetal alcohol syndrome.
After the verdict in that trial, I’m waiting for the bus after a day in court and KING TV reporter and cameraman came up to me and stated the verdict and asked for my opinion. I clumsily said, “Not only do I support it, but I think Beam should countersue for ‘frivolous lawsuit’”. It went on the air that night.
The next day, the plaintiff’s attorneys are looking at the jury a lot, and finally ask for a sidebar with the judge. They dismiss all the jurors except me, and ask me if it was me. I said it was. They asked me if it would influence my position on this case. I told them they are two completely different cases and have nothing whatsoever to do with each other.
The judge kept me on the jury. I found against the plaintiff, BTW, but on the facts, not that silly sidebar.
Hah! We talked about sequestration the other day...look at this.
It’s clear the State wants the jury to know:
Vote Guilty or the city will burn. And YOUR name and address will be somehow leaked out.
