Minnesota police fatally shot a 20-year-old man during a traffic stop on Sunday afternoon — sparking protests and looting that lasted well into the night.
Police shot the man, identified by family as Daunte Wright, after pulling him over on Orchard Avenue in Brooklyn Center at about 2 p.m., WCCO reported, citing authorities.
It was not immediately clear why Wright, who was with his girlfriend at the time, was stopped. But police said he had an outstanding warrant.
When police tried to arrest Wright, he allegedly tried to get back into his car, leading to an officer opening fire, the report said.

So you see we will burn this summer no matter how the infamous Chauvin trail comes out. There is always something.
And by “protests” they mean riots.
After the burning and looting a few months down the line, not in a blazing headline across this nation in every paper and news cast at nausium for months on end but on page 6 of your local paper, a small insignificant article you will know the truth
The Black Looters Movement sounds like it ran out of “stimulus” money again.
Apparently some of the police are slow learners to. We don’t do that kind of thing anymore. Must be rookies.
All those “racist” cops hired by a 100% Democrat government and a black police chief. Definitely time for a complete defunding of the Minnesota police so the good folks who love the Democrats can atone for their racism by letting the thugs finish the destruction they started last year.
It would never occur to me to refuse to be arrested by LE and then get back into my car and try to drive off! So much for “The Talk” that POC supposedly have to have with their kids. And now his mother says he was pulled over because he had an air freshener in his car? Does anyone believe the lame excuses they make for their kids’ stupid decisions? SMDH.
“I am closely monitoring the situation in Brooklyn Center,” Walz said. “Gwen and I are praying for Daunte Wright’s family as our state mourns another life of a Black man taken by law enforcement.”
Gee...that sure makes it seem like the Police were the aggressor.. In contrast, the Black man was just innocently going about his day. He was just stopped and killed for no reason in particular. [/s]
If this report is accurate, that he was getting back in his car, then the “protests” are warranted, but not the looting. That cop is in a whole lot of trouble. I don’t understand why they all don’t just walk off the job.
Waltz just threw the MPD under the bus without a second thought. I see more show trials on the horizon.
So the guy had a warrant. Didn’t cooperate, so the police shot him dead? Seems obsessive.
To BLM, EVERY DAY is January 6th!!!
I blame the cops. They know who they are working for, so it's all on them.
I am just sick and tired of it all especially from the failed society of the typical DNC run sh*t holes. I at this point care less who is right or wrong black white etc etc. I will simply watch these areas of continue to rot. It will be wise to stay away from urban and DNC run areas from this time forward especially this summer because they will burn, be destroyed and whitey is in the crosshairs (Antifa has a whitey pass by BLM). All of this unfortunately still is eroding the foundation of the country as America is essentially leaderless and run by evil.
> Didn’t cooperate, so the police shot him dead? <
The article doesn’t say. But I’ll bet it’s the old “I thought he was going for a gun” routine.
And yes, sometimes the person is going for a gun. And then there’s a tragedy. But too often there is no gun. And those unarmed folks do not deserve the death penalty for being uncooperative or confused. I don’t buy the BLM argument that the police are monsters. But the police really need to rethink how to handle these kind of encounters.
Here’s a video of a guy who gets pulled over. The cop asks for his drivers license. The guy goes to get his license. The cop shoots the guy multiple times.

.
Exactly. The driver had every right to believe the police wouldn’t dare enforce their silly warrant now that police defunding, the 2020 election, and non-prosecution of BLM/Antifa thugs have made crime a civil right.
Black men are being randomly murdered in wildly disproportionate numbers for doing nothing at all by institutionally racist police departments.
Also, it appears that resisting arrest is a point of honor.
“Durante...” Uh oh.
The cop was wearing a body camera so until the video is released, I suspect we will not get the whole story. But, unless that footage dispels the current narrative the cop has a serious problem. Minneapolis is going to burn this summer as will most major metro areas no matter what. I do not live there, I do not care. Burn them all to the ground for all I care. Fence them off like the Capitol leave the human animals to their own devices. Cleanup the area after the first freeze.
The Chauvin trial is not going so well for the prosecution. I mean they could put Mickey Mouse on the stand and possibly get a conviction. I believe Chauvin will win on appeal if not in front of the jury. The prosecution has been so bad, the State should really reconsider going after the other cops. Turns out body cam footages shows his knee was not on Floyd’s neck. The prosecution had to admit to that so they now claim the position he was in while handcuffed restricted Floyd’s ability to breath. Minneapolis will be paying out a lot more money when the cops sue them. By then it will be time for the suburbs to burn. All those suburban Biden supporters getting their just deserts. MSM deserve a lot of the credit for this summers violence. They only report on pieces of the testimony. They leave out a lot of the cross examination that has hurt the prosecution. The defense is even calling two of the prosecution “experts” to testify for the defense because they hurt the prosecution so badly on cross examination.
