Another Covid Myth Dies the Death
AIER ^ | April 10, 2021 | Jeffrey A. Tucker

On April 5, however, the CDC page was replaced “In most situations, the risk of infection from touching a surface is low.” Oh is that so?

The link goes to the following:

Quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) studies have been conducted to understand and characterize the relative risk of SARS-CoV-2 fomite transmission and evaluate the need for and effectiveness of prevention measures to reduce risk. Findings of these studies suggest that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection via the fomite transmission route is low, and generally less than 1 in 10,000, which means that each contact with a contaminated surface has less than a 1 in 10,000 chance of causing an infection.

Whoops.

So much for the many billions spent on cleaning products, the employees and the time, and hysteria and frenzy, the rise of touchlessness, and gloves, the dousing of the whole world. The science apparently changed. Still it will be years before people get the news and act on it. Once the myths of surface transmission of a respiratory virus are unleashed, it will be hard to go back to normal.

Fortunately the New York Times did some accurate reporting on the CDC update, quoting all kinds of experts who claim to have known this all along.

“Finally,” said Linsey Marr, an expert on airborne viruses at Virginia Tech. “We’ve known this for a long time and yet people are still focusing so much on surface cleaning.” She added, “There’s really no evidence that anyone has ever gotten Covid-19 by touching a contaminated surface.”

Still, I’m willing to bet that if right now I headed to a WalMart or some other large chain store, there will be several employees dedicated to disinfecting everything they can, and there will be customers there who demand it to be so.

What on earth is Simple Green?

It's a line of cleaning products with "woke joke" pretensions. I assume some of the products work, since they're still in business. But I won't buy them, since the name does not address on what I actually want, which is clean stuff.

ME TOO!! Even when going into the office, where we are supposed to use hand sanitizer, pick up the thermometer to ck temp, pick up pen to sign in, use hand sanitizer again...

I pretend I’m using the sanitizer. brought an old DRIED UP wipes container - never used in office.

Maybe NOW the churches can stop handing out wipes for us to clean where we sat and touched (JUST HOW did my butt transmit anything...??)

I bought a bottle of Lysol disinfectant but we never did open it. I don’t wipe down the handle of shopping carts either. Don’t wear a mask either. I even shook a guy’s hand the other day.

I’m more annoyed that my traditional house cleaning supplies are constantly out of stock. I’m not against mixing up some white vinegar and warm water as a cleaner, but sometimes it’s just convenient to grab a wipe to clean up the kitchen after dinner.

I frequent my local library and this week they had a table full of liquid hand cleaners. They were giving it away, nobody wants it.

Most all public “official” “authorities” are like the emperor who has no clothes on. They DESERVE to be questioned and questioned hard.

The virus lands all over you and you think a mask that cannot filter a virus is going to protect you? You touch any surface including yourself and you should dead right?
We have been lied to from the beginning. If a democrat was president last year, the virus would hardly make the news but the democrats wanted to get rid of Trump and Trump fell for their scam.

CDC Covid-19 Survival Rates as of 10/2020
Age 0-19 — 99.997%

....I didn’t buy one milligram of cleaning product....

So, you don't clean anything? You don't wash the dishes or your clothes, use soap in the bath or after the toilet?

I'm sure you do all those things. Perhaps you had a large enough stockpile of cleaning products before all the nonsense started.

Just the normal ones. Did clean the bathroom more often. Dishwasher gets hot enough to kill the virus.

CDC silently replaces its page on fomite transmission of covid [from the “We’ve ALWAYS Been At War With East Asia Department”]

“Quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) studies have been conducted to understand and characterize the relative risk of SARS-CoV-2 fomite transmission and evaluate the need for and effectiveness of prevention measures to reduce risk. Wow, now that REAL science has been done the FAKE propaganda “science” has been blown up... go figure ... so, my question is, why in the world does ANYONE believe anything the fascist media and their “experts” say anymore?

Does the “science” explain what happened in Cuomo’s nursing homes?

The supposedly-recovered COVID returnees were killing everybody else.

Either they were still infectious or their stuff was. I always assumed the crap they brought with them was probably loaded with the virus.

Remember, even if the “science” says 1-in-10,000 chance (per exposure), all you need is the “1” and you’ve got a coughing or silent locus of a new outbreak. The “gain” the chicoms were angling for was transmisivity.

My wife was a good RN most of her adult life and basically retired about 5 years ago.

At first, she had us bring in our Walmart orders or Costco deliveries into our laundry room.

Everything, but items needing to be put in a refrig or freezer were placed on a clean and sterilized shelf to get sun light for a few hours. Also, she sprayed sealed items with a germ/virus spray.

I didn’t argue. I just wore my “Really” face during these wasted actions.

In the meantime, she and other RNs in the family and RN friends discussed this issue. Most said that was a waste of time, money and effort.

Our grand daughter, who will finish her RN degree in a few weeks and was working in an ICU 2-3 shifts a week, told her that was a waste of time.

A few weeks, later we started bringing the groceries into
our kitchen and then put on the counter or kitchen table before putting them in the frig, freezer, cabinets or shelves in the sunlight.

Months, later we are still alive!

I stock up, buddy.

But I did mean to specify “disinfectant” and hand sanitizer/wipes. Never bought any and never will.

I clean with borax and vinegar most of time.

“Syenz” is such a wonderful thing. Posing as REAL science, almost any proclamation made by the “authorities” was deemed to be Holy Scripture, to be departed from only on pain of eternal damnation.

Most people do not take organized religion that seriously. Why should “Syenz” be given such superstitious awe? In early 2020, all kinds of worrying extrapolations were made, forecasting an epidemic that would make the Spanish influenza world-wide in the period of 1918-1920, one of the most feared plagues since the Black Plague of the Middle Ages, seem like a bad cold.

But it turns out, the COVID-19 Wuhan virus is neither as infectious nor anywhere nearly as deadly as the Spanish influenza. For those who progressed to the later stages of the disease, the devastation was deadly, but very early on, there were a number of therapeutic practices that arrested the progression of the disease BEFORE it reached its end stages, and recovery with no lingering aftereffects was pretty much the norm. Some people, probably with a great deal of natural immunity already, were almost entirely asymptomatic, and while they COULD transmit the disease, the effects were almost always short-term and of low probability, very little from surfaces to inhalation.

Sunshine and fresh air mitigate against almost any infectious disease caused by pathogens, bacterial, viral or most any other microorganism. UV-C light and ozone generators reach almost everywhere that is enclosed and not in direct sunlight.
