Joe Cobb was born with both Georgia and baseball in his blood. He is related to both the Detroit Tigers legend Ty Cobb and to Thomas Willis Cobb, the founder of the suburban Atlanta county where the Braves now play.
It is only natural for him to have a deep affinity to both baseball and his home state. His team has always been the Atlanta Braves. “I cannot emphasize enough how deep my love for the Braves has been my entire life,” he said from his home in suburban Atlanta.
“I am not done because of me," says Cobb. "I am done because of all of the small businesses that have lost the equivalent to Christmas. This is for the Uber drivers, street vendors, food trucks, breweries, restaurants, parking lot attendants who were all depending on this three-day event to bolster their income.”
“I am also done because this decision was based on a lie," he adds. "And it was made by corporate executives based in New York City who live in the wealthiest zip codes in the country, making decisions based not on the loyalty of their fan base, but instead under pressure from either their employees or the fear they won’t be invited to the next cocktail party if they didn’t do it."

The Governor handed Kemp an issue on a Silver platter.
Kemp is so far in the woods, he’ll never get out.
I gave no bleeps about MLB before this latest instance of wokeness.
I certainly can’t see any backlash now.
I think you mean the Commissioner.
Kemp won’t survive the primary.
Kemp is garbage. MLB is garbage.
“...The Governor handed Kemp an issue
on a Silver platter...”

No comprendo.
Did you mean to say “Commissioner” instead of “Governor?
Counties aren’t “founded.” They are created.
Atlanta is predominantly African American. Colorado is lily-white. MLB moved the all-Star game because they hate black people.
Heard Gov. Kemp last week on FOX Sports Radio
He sounded cool, calm, and in control of the facts ... and he’s not backing down
Nor should he ... he’s correct on this, the corruption & fraud needs to be stopped ... NOW
I was not so much a MLB fan as I was a Nats fan. Goodbye to both.
Kemp is the governor.
>>MLB’s decision will fall hard on minority-owned businesses in Cobb County, Georgia, where the Braves’ stadium is located. The county is 28% black, with over 31,000 small businesses owned by minorities. Compare that to Denver’s black population of only 9.8%, where only about 18,000 small businesses are owned by minorities.<<
liberalism: It is not about DOING good. It is about SIGNALLING you APPEAR to be doing good.
Very true. He made his decision to lie down with dogs and all the fleas that go with them: Duncan, Raffensberger, Carr, Ralston, Miller, Dugan and, of course, Stacy Abrams. Whether he was afraid of more riots or some scandal coming out...maybe the fact that he was in debt up to his eyeballs after his election and POOF!!!! it’s all gone and Loeffler is a US Senator.
Georgia Gov. Kemp Awarded $107 Million Contract to Dominion Two Weeks After Meeting With People’s Republic of China Consul General ...... https://tennesseestar.com/2020/12/10/georgia-gov-kemp-awarded-107-million-contract-to-dominion-two-weeks-after-meeting-with-peoples-republic-of-china-consul-general/
They all feigned shock when it broke that Raffensberger signed a Consent Decree, he was not authorized to sign, with regards to mail in voting and also with the corrupt 3rd worlders that now seem to run Gwinnett County(once probably the most Conservative county in the state). No more. And with the news of the Consent Decree and their fake surprise they did nothing about it and let the same rules play out in January, ushering in 2 Socialists. One a radical Left Preacher and the other being the son of rich, white Liberals and never having held a job other than being staffer for Hank Johnson...of Guam flipping over because of the Marines, among other things.
Yet they did nothing.
ANYWHO........This nonsense about small businesses and mom & pop shops being hurt is just that.....F*cking Nonsense...emphasis mine.
The game was going to be played at the Braves “kind of new stadium” which is an entire complex and entertainment area. There are NO ‘mom & pop’ shops there. There is no ‘downtown area’ to stroll around in. Everything, all the commerce, all the t-shirt-hats-jersey’s would have been sold inside The Battery, as it’s called. Sure, folks would have been able to set up tents, etc, but no telling what they’d be paying for permits and licenses, for basically one or two days.
And it isn’t like the Braves are the Yankees or Red Sox. They have some loyal fans, but the metro area is so filled with transplants that they have trouble filling seats. I remember going to the Yankees-Braves World Series back in the day. Yankee fans definitely outnumbered the locals.
The place is on a main commuter and traffic route that isn’t like crossing Main St is some small town.
Technically the field is now in Cobb County. But even its population is ~25% black, vs. ~10% for Denver. So yes, that works, I love.
THE MLB is headed for hell anyway, even before this latest suicide attempt.
Wasn’t the All-Star game supposed to honor an African American all-time great baseball player who is either from Atlanta or played in Atlanta? Now that it will be played in mostly white Denver, will MLB still honor him.
I consider governor Kemp to be the number one person responsible for the nightmare coming from the Democrats in DC. He started it by nominating Loeffler to the Senate seat followed by many other terrible decisions related to elections.
The finger should be pointed at Stacy Abrams. How come it’s not?
Kemp NEEDS TO GO!! This asshat out there NOW trying to act concerned BASTARD!!!
Let’s see the ballots. Brad. NOW !!!!
