President Biden on Thursday announced a slew of new gun control measures after a recent pair of high-profile mass shootings, and insisted the Second Amendment doesn’t grant an absolute right to own guns.
Biden presented the executive actions in the Rose Garden, joined by Attorney General Merrick Garland and Vice President Kamala Harris.
“No amendment to the Constitution is absolute,” Biden maintained, pointing to the famous Supreme Court ruling that you can’t yell fire in a crowded theater as part of the First Amendment’s free speech clause.

The further over the edge he goes, the faster Alan Gura will be at the Supreme Court earning his paycheck slapping these fools around.
All they do now is help us create binding precedent expanding the scope of the Second Amendment. I only wish that President Trump could have replaced another liberal or moderate justice or two. That would have made it even easier to secure sweeping wins.
I wish someone would have asked Joe: “Even the 13th Amendment?”
Yes, we are not living in a nation of laws anymore, and probably haven’t been for some time now.

Let it be so. SCOTUS needs to finally address those words, shall not be infringed. They are there, on purpose, for a reason.
“Just gag me with a three-skegged surfboard.” With apology to Bob Hardy Jr. June 25, 1954. - June 5, 1998 - R.I.P.).

Kavanaugh would add text, history and tradition as analyses to strict scrutiny as noted in a dissent written by him. If the framers’ intentions behind the Constitution are included, an upheld ban against modern sporting rifles (misnamed as assault weapons) becomes more unlikely.
Unintended Consequnces was a warning, not a script.
As is the Declaration of Independence.
I wonder why democrats always want to bitch about crime but never want to arrest and incarcerate criminals?
Because the left sees criminals as politically reliable,
as long as they prey on the populace.
As long as they are politically reliable, they are even
allowed to prey on the State.
Mal Reynolds: “I am to misbehave”
You are correct but we have a dire problem with a Supreme Court either compromised or held under threats. “Packing the Court” has apparently been bypassed through terrorizing those sitting in it.
Oh, so maybe slavery is OK now?
18th Amendment:
Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
Only one amendment contains shall not be infringed.
