The Chinese regime sent more fighter jets into Taiwan’s air defense zone on April 7 in a stepped-up show of force around the island that Beijing claims as its own, as Taiwan’s foreign minister said it would fight to the end if the communist regime attacks.
The democratic self-governed island has complained of repeated military activities by Beijing in recent months, with China’s air force making almost daily forays in Taiwan’s air defense identification zone. On April 5, the Chinese regime said an aircraft carrier group was operating close to the island.
Taiwan’s defense ministry said 15 Chinese aircraft including 12 fighters entered its air defense identification zone, with an anti-submarine aircraft flying to the south through the Bashi Channel between Taiwan and the Philippines.
Taiwan’s air force sent up aircraft to intercept and warn the Chinese away, the ministry added.
Speaking earlier in the day, Taiwan Foreign Minister Joseph Wu said the United States is concerned about the risk of conflict.
“From my limited understanding of American decision-makers watching developments in this region, they clearly see the danger of the possibility of China launching an attack against Taiwan,” he told reporters at his ministry.
“We are willing to defend ourselves without any questions, and we will fight the war if we need to fight the war. And if we need to defend ourselves to the very last day, we will defend ourselves to the very last day.”
China’s Taiwan Affairs Office and the U.S. State Department didn’t respond to requests for comment on Wu’s remarks. China has said its activities around Taiwan are aimed at protecting China’s sovereignty. The United States, which has expressed concern about China’s movements, said its commitment to Taiwan is “rock solid.”

“..rock solid. Period...”
Trump’s “rock solid” and pedoJoe’s “rock solid” aren’t the same “rock solid”.
At the end of WWII, the USMC (my father was there as a BAR rifleman) was on mainland China rounding up the last of the Japanese. The communists had started their uprising, and the Nationalists begged for assistance to put it down. They even asked to conscript the Japanese prisoners to help fight the communists.
The word came down all the way from the POTUS to NOT give em a darn thing...not even a single bullet. Here we had a whole contingent of battle-hardened Marines that could have immediately put the whole communist uprising down, but, no. “Rock solid” then, “rock solid”, now.
Good. Better to go down fighting as a free man than as a slave.
It takes three to one to attack, Red China would not be able to do it.
Outstanding analysis! I truly believe that the USA should have destroyed communism when we had a chance against China and Russia. The thought always was America was war weary but I call BS. Call me crazy but I think there were forces who wanted the communists to hold a place at the table post WWII and the new world order. Imagine a world without communism and specifically what America would be at this very moment.
Nukes. I don’t think so
The Taiwanese need to bribe Hunter and Jao Bai-din the way the Communist Chinese do.
Developing ties
That may be but will Japan really get involved if there is a major attack? Just can’t see it.
china has also been encroaching on japan’s islands, or islands they’ve comsidered for a long time as japan’s
I’ve frequently posted that our enemies would be fools not to move against us, boldly, when B-HO was usurping. To my astonishment, only Russia made bold conquests - still unknown to most Freepers! Today, I believe the enemies learned their lessons and will quickly make moves that will befuddle and astonish the children and senile elderly alike who run what used to be this great country.
Remember, China has been harassing Japan and trying to claim islands that Japan says are part of their territory.
Not really. Due to tidal flow and the rocky coastline, there are only 14 potential landing spots for invasion. Taiwan has been preparing for decades digging tunnels and bunkers in the mountains overlooking the landing zones armed with artillery, not to mention having these places mined. They also have many mobile units armed with anti-ship cruise missiles. Plus due to tides and the typhoon season in the Taiwan strait, they only have a short window for invasion, between May and June, and the month of October.
Let’s wait and see when Taiwan announces that it has nuclear weapons - bombs, artillery shells, sea and land mines, etc.
Gonna luv it, I am! I spent a summer studying and tour the island and met many great people from a WW2 hero to a future present and many professors, students, and street folk. Good people who deserve their freedom, which is exactly why Biden/Harris/Obama want Red China to conquer them so that they won’t have it.
Will Xiden grant to Chyna’s 1-million man army one million Jet-Skis?
China will take Taiwan without firing a shot with a tight sea/air blockade.
In a nuclear war one side has to pull the trigger first. THERE IS NO SCENARIO WHERE PULLING THE TRIGGER FIRST LEADS TO VICTORY.
China can squeeze Taiwan into submission without firing one bullet.
It turns out she is half Chameleon.
Like you implied its very doubtful China could land men on beaches lacking enough sea lift capacity. However, China is building up its helicopters across from the island; the PLAAF will seek air dominance and if they can, it will be a relatively easy to bring enough troops in using helicopters
just a thought
I wonder if they change Kamalas heritage to asian
—
She is nominally Asian since she is 50% Tamil Hindu with ZERO African DNA.
Also, Taiwan has missile assets that place the Three Gorges Dam in range.

Any such attack would kill 300 million people and China’s response would be nuclear. No one is than stupid.
